Yes, I have been contacted out of nowhere by a well reviewed escort that I have never met. Like an earlier poster said it happened on the day of the EOY posting. In that I have never met the guy this unsolicited bonhomie did make me add this guy to my "never" list, no matter how well intentioned his well wishes were.

That's exactly what it is like being prom queen and has absolutely no real meaning. It's a beauty contest.

Hugs,

Greg

I know some prom queens who plotted, schemed and clawed their way to the crown!

I received a long text message (generic, no greeting, cut/paste style) at 12:37am on 11/27 stating it was an 'emergency' with directions on voting for him as EOY. Completely unprofessional and I asked to be removed from his list immediately.

Solicitors are hot.

When I read Rumpole of the Bailey (all of them,) I finally learned the difference between a barrister and a solicitor, a distinction peculiar to only British law.

Of course I wanted to post a pic of Rumpole up there but he's a barrister.

That's the part that gets me. What is the "emergency"?!

I seem to recall that the EOY activity was started not as a formal contest by Daddy, but in response to a member's

thread around new year's just asking who made one's year memorable. (my patience and searching skills

aren't up to the task of finding it, but I'll bet that original thread is still accessible).

As sometimes happens with threads, it kinda mushroomed, and some feelings got hurt, and I think Daddy decided

to do it the next time to keep peace in the family.

Of course, this might be premature senile dementia on *my* part, but that's what I seem to recall . . .

I doubt that having the title, in of itself, increases anybody's business, but lots of positive public comments likely would,

in the long term.

and Daddy has one that'll knock you sideways!

Dude. I like you. You keep it fun. I think you'd be a ball to hang out with. We can go to Vegas and have eating binges. :D

Was that solicitous enough? :p

I have been solicited by more than one escort for my vote. It's fine with me, no harm done. Even though there is no rule prohibiting it, I will not vote for an escort that I have never hired. (period)

I think we could have a trifecta here. one word : 3-sum-buffeting. Do we get a beautiful people discount?

I feel like this is a challenge now xD

Actually that was the Hookies.

Just that when rentboy got shut down, all the shit the shit they mentioned from the Hookies was enough to convince me never to attend an awards thing like that. The annual events they do HERE seem kosher cause we're all behaving. I hope u all are this fun in real life and don't bite your tounge or have anxiety, cause I'll get you drunk to loosen up, in the account of you hopefully not being an angry drunk.

Again interesting as from I understand from higher sources NOBODY knew of the announcement being made exactly on TD.

Daddy never gave a set date to anybody when the announcement date would be as I understand it was decided very last minute on the spur of the moment situation.

I am curious if anyone here will actually say the name of the person that solicited the vote. Lots of gossip but no guts.

I was not solicited but would not hesitate to say the name of the escort that did. If you think it is a bad practice, then put your spine into it and name names. If not, basically stop the whisper campaign, and vote your mind, your heart or your dick

I was one of those that was solicited, and yes I considered it an "emergency text"... and no I didn't name names out of respect for the person who sent it, but in my opinion, the purpose of the thread was for us to consider whether or not solicitation was proper at all, not to out the person or persons who were soliciting.

JD was also solicited, and didn't name names, because that's not, nor should be the focus here.

"To set the record straight, these escorts who asked or what some would call of course "solicited" for my vote for EOY, are people I would consider anyway based on they're dedication in the business, stellar reviews, and an eagerness for greatness in the industry.

Would you say they may have solicited or self-promoted themselves, Yes. Was it out of bad intentions - Absolutely not. Reason-being because each and every one of these well-known guys have proven themselves as stellar escorts in the business, and are deserving of the award as well as any other escort who's looking to strive for greatness in they're career.

How am I gonna judge or discredit someone for being determined to do better? I can't fault one for being" determined.

Well lots of people on here have said that it is a smart business move to solicit this award. That one has every right to promote oneself in order to get ahead. I am wondering how making that bold business advancing gesture is going to discredit someone. In fact, might someone who is bold and inventive enough to try and advance their chosen career in this manner, deserve extraconsideration for EOY in view of their business promotion style. Or is it that perhaps people who say that it is smart and appropriate are being disingenuous?

Even better that anyone who was solicited naming names,, how about that the innovator step forward and take credit for acumen in furthering his chances for EOY or is this just a sub rosa campaign?

Brian, that is a vast difference between what I think I know and what I know. Probably not in this case, but in life in general.
