I just sent an inquiry to see his private pics and got a response about how if he has to pay for premium then I have to also. kind of rude if you ask me. seems like somebody to pass on

Not a good way to do business. Is he trying to make a sale or not? (to put it crudely, but then what are we talking about here?)

yes it was very odd. the interesting thing is all he had to do was ignore my request but he actually took the time to respond the way he did. I can appreciate it if he isn't interested or doesn't want to unlock. but his response seemed out of left field. I am guessing maybe he was having an off moment

If I'm understanding his response, given that Premium site members can view Private Photo Galleries without asking for a password, he wants you to be a Premium member to see those photos. I understand the desire to resist lookie loos, but I'm not sure I entirely understand the logic. I guess he has data that shows Premium members are more inclined to hire.

yes I suspect that was the logic but....not sure why he just didn't ignore me. oh and BigRic....holy cow your body is sick!

Personally, I don't like to ignore prospective clients and prefer to offer some kind of--in this case--politer declination.

And thanks for the compliment. ;)

it was clear from the outset that he was just not into it. No conversation, no intimate body contact, he just went through the motions and that was that. Obviously, he wanted to be somewhere else.

Not defending him but how mature do we expect "young surfer guys" to be? I think for those that specifically look for that type you have to practice give and take. In my experience most are flaky and connecting with them was an impossibility. "Maturity" for the average gay man takes many more years then their straight counterparts.

Depends how often he gets hit up by the looky loos. It is an interesting question. I'm sure the premier clients are 90% more likely to be serious vs the ones that never bother to sign up. However, there is that 10%.

So he kinda gets a pass . . . because he's gay?

I think 26 is old enough to be professional. One could argue that's even more the case if someone has been doing porn (you hopefully know the importance of accountability, being able to perform/be present even if not feelin' it, etc.). It would be diff if he was just exhibiting youthful immaturity then but was all growns up now. But he apparently still has issues . . .?

It's a good point, Cali.

Why advertise if you plan to discourage potential clients? How much effort does it take to unlock "private" photos. Less than it would take to write an email declining to do so. Why even have private photos, anyway? I suppose Rentmen encourages it since they get $9.95 a month from premium users. It is like advertising a car for sale in an auto trader magazine, getting a interested phone call, then refusing to provide the potential buyer additional information. Do you want to sell the car or not? If the escort wants to preserve an aura of exclusivity, he should simply raise his rates. BTW, the guy is 36, and since he has done porn, his "private" pictures are hardly a secret anyway. Whenever I detect a bad attitude regarding an inquiry, I just move on.

But why should that be? I think I was fairly empathetic when I was younger. If handsome young gay males are flaky then I think that happens to a lot of incredibly handsome straight males too-especially the jocks. If they are handsome and really good at sports, they are usually catered to all their school career. It would be difficult not to be overly impressed with yourself with that upbringing. I remember having a college speech course with a member of the football team. The team wasn't great-but he was one of the stars-handsome, muscular blond, guy in great shape. I remember him having a big entitlement attitude.

I couldn't have said it better. this is how I was feeling and I think why the response really took me by surprise because he actually had to put forth an effort to reply to me. funny thing is when he replied that way I did put in the effort to search for his films and I wasn't that impressed.

Hmm...I think he pays to advertise on the site, not for "premium" status. Buying a premium membership does, in fact, allow access to semi-private pics, so anyone who has a premium membership can see them for free. However, a non-premium member, in my opinion, who contacts an escort about seeing private pics has to expend more effort than someone who has the membership. To me, this would signal more interest.

PS: You ain't missing much.

I am just going to come out and say it;

Botox much?

Where are the supposed queens?!

Aren't they supposed to be calling this bluff, not me LOL

We, sir, are gentlemen! We don't do things like that.

Oh, who am I trying to kid? Our eyesight is just not that great. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

so today I randomly got an unlock of his private pictures from our friend. I wonder if he is reading this board. If so thanks to him for unlocking but it wasn't necessary after what transpired. I am hoping he was just having a bad day when this went down.

I've had a semi-slow but sure change of perspective on this. I recently took some of my pics on Rentmen, including explicit shots, private. I'm receiving a significant number of requests to open my Gallery. When I check where these guys are located if that's listed, they're not in my home city or anywhere I have a travel ad up for. Lots of global window shopping. Johannesburg. Manila. When I send a reply politely asking when the guy will be in my home city, over 95% of the time I get no response. I'm not seeing the "10%" mentioned earlier.

Although it sounds like JRyan's response was a little crispy in its form, in spirit I've already come around to a place of agreeing with the idea that if you aren't even a registered site member and are asking to see my private pics yet can't even say when you're going to literally be in a place to hire me, you're a likely "lookie loo."

So I'm recanting my "eyeroll." :)

I think the difference between professionals and "others" is knowing that there is a lot of BS to wade through, but doing it with class. :)
