I assumed it wasn't since the uploader functionality does not permit any file type. If I need to include a photo I just upload it to my site's img folder and link directly. You can probably upload something via an image upload service and go that route.

Huh? Can you say that now in non techie?

Go to tinypic.com and copy the link it gives you to directly link to the photo, then use the link option or the image option here on the form to link to the photo. ;)

I'm not sure I like what you're implying by tiny. A button on a fur coat was just one person's opinion. It was cold that day.

Oh your talking about posting pictures. I gotcha that seems complicated for insignificant me. But it's good information to have if I ever become a big deal here.

Thank you for technical assistance. :)

Gem~

Puzzled by the question. Am I misunderstanding it? The Gallery, the Fetish Forum, the Politics Forum (for example) are all loaded with photos. Very easy to do even for the tech-phobic.

I've tried numerous times and am never successful. The only luck I ever have is with linking youtube videos. :(

Again ... puzzled.

Gemini, I know you've looked at some of my posts in The Gallery (thanks for the "LIKE"s) ... I simply find pictures I want to use, click on them to copy, go either to a folder or directly to The Gallery, get my cursor in position and click to paste.

It doesn't work for me I keep getting some kind of error statement.

It's not a big deal really. I enjoy work of others just fine. But sometimes I would like to be able to post a photo.

When I do as you say, I get nothing. Is it bc I'm working out of an iPad?

I think what is missing here is that the images have to be hosted elsewhere on the internet, not merely resident on your hard drive, and that what is being copied and pasted is the URL (web address) for the image itself, not the site on which it is found.

Sometimes this doesn't work at all or only works temporarily because the site hosting the image prohibits the practice (called hotlinking) because it eats up bandwidth. Since the forum doesn't have an upload function (because it eats bandwidth), the only sure answer is to upload to one's own image-hosting account (Dropbox, Flickr, Imgur, Tumblr, etc.) and link from there.

Let me just say that it's a CERTAINTY that both Kurtis and QTR are many levels above me in tech-sophistication.

The good news in that--to those who have had trouble posting photos, but want to--is that IF you are finding an image (or piece of art) elsewhere on the internet and copying and pasting, it will almost always work just fine (in my experience). I think I have once or twice had an image disappear after it INITIALLY looked like it pasted successfully. (I suspect QTR has explained this with her reference to something working only temporarily.)

P.S. I am never working from an iPad, always from either a desktop or laptop PC.

I'm not party to Daddy's innermost thoughts, but other reasons for not allowing uploads might

be legal liability, and limited storage space.

My (recently former) boss told me of a case of a research/instructional testbed at cornell university where the chief admin found himself facing arrest for distributing child porn because of one his *users* uploaded it and the admin was completely innocent and ignorant of it. Didn't get much support from the university lawyers according to the story.

(recently former due to retirement).

I believe your first statement is correct, with legal liability being higher on the list.

Whose retiement? Yours, or the former boss's?

I post lots of pics and do so using my iPad mini. "Thanks" to Apple, and since the curse of iOS 8, it ain't easy. Due to that fact I have refused to install 9. Prior to that it was a breeze to post pics here. Now it's a pain in the butt! The technique I have been using is a bit cumbersome so I decided to try tinypic.

At any rate, I just tried what Kurtis suggested using my iPad and here are the results.

It seems to have worked! It will be interesting to see for how long the image is available. It's a bit of a circuitous procedure, but it got the job done! Easier on a PC however!

Thank you Kurtis! Looking forward to thanking you in person one of these days!

I just tried doing that for this message reply. The picture appeared for a second, then I got an error notice saying it did not have an allowed extension. This happens every time I try to post a visual. http://i67.tinypic.com/nwddtg_th.jpgOK now! I just tried tinypic and it actually works!!! Liked this particular photo because Helen Mirren is once again one of the best dressed and sexiest ladies on the red carpet--recent SAG Awards. Thanks for the suggestion Kurtis Wolfe.

Thanks, tinypic.com works wonderfully.

Do you know if there is an expiration? how long do tinypic.com hold my pictures I uploaded?
