1. The guy Despardo poses the question about goes by Discoboy, has an ad for Seattle on Rentmen, and a phone number with a 940 (Texas) area code.

 

2. I posted a Backpage ad in Seattle of 'another' guy who also goes by Discoboy but has a phone number with an 858 (California) area code.

 

3. Dutchmuch now posts a Local Adult Pages ad in Seattle for a guy who has the same pictures as the guy in the Backpage ad that I posted about but who has the same phone number as the ad Despardo posted about (without, I might add, being the same guy featured in Despardo's ad).

Thanks guys. The guy pictured in the Rentman ad (multiple photos which appear to be all the same guy--all very professional) is not the same guy in the Backpage pictures. In the days of cellphones, disposable and otherwise, I am not too concerned about Texas or California area codes or that more than one advertiser could use the moniker Discoboy. HOWEVER, the fact that ads for 2 obviously different guys have the same phone number is a red flag. I suppose two guys traveling together could be using the same phone, but NO---nobody does that these days. Who doesn't have his own phone or a couple phones for "business" purposes? Sounds to me like a scam involving more than one person. What attracted me to the Rentmen ad is the same thing that gave me pause--the fact that the kid is just too cute, has a perfect body, and has really good pictures. Also, when I sent him a feeler email, he jumped on it and tried to set up an appointment for the same day without any discussion. Not damning in and of itself, but... Also, if I were 22 years old and looked like that, I would be charging more, wouldn't you think? I mean, clients for that sort of thing are surely out there. I think I will go with my original instincts and pass. --another minor point: on the Rentmen ad, the kid lists his age as 24 under the stats, but as 22 in the profile text. No big deal, but if I were placing an ad, I would decide before hand how old I wanted to be and stick to it.

I didn't mind the area codes not being congruent with where he/they live. My area code currently is not for Washington state either. I only mentioned the area codes as a means to keep the numbers, if I may use the expression, 'straight' between the three ads.

 

While I agree and definitely wouldn't want you to put yourself in a dangerous scam situation (I totally agree with your decision. I wouldn't meet with him/them either.), I'm sorry we won't get to learn what the guy actually looks like.

Didn't say he had written other reviews, but RM says he has been a member of the site since 2011 which lends at least a modicum of credibility. Don't know how the escort could have pulled him out of the hat on short notice. If the review were faked by the escort, more likely he would just have registered on RM for the purpose or had a friend do it. Otherwise, the kid is a genius to have pulled this off. Also, the review is good, but not 100% positive, and I don't think the kid could be that much of a genius.

Using my phone, your link led me to the mobile site where he doesn't appear. But I was able to load the full website where I saw his Italian ad.

 

But even aside from this puzzling ad, there is still another puzzle regarding him (?them) that has not been explained. Namely why are there two different sets of pictures-ie different guys- who have both called themselves DiscoBoy and have used the same phone number in the past?

 

The only answers I can think of are

 

1. They are friends or boyfriends and sometimes one is advertising when the other isn't. But they share a nom de escort and their phones.

 

2. It's only one guy. But for some reason he sometimes advertises with pictures that aren't his.

 

3. The two sets of pictures are total fakes. This leads to the question of whether the advertiser is close in physique to the guys in his ads or not.

 

All of the above then have the possibilities that the guy is a good escort except for the picture problems, he is not a great escort, or he is a total scam just trying to take your money.
