Is it allowed for me to post updates here from time to time?

Yes, in fact it's encouraged. We'd love to hear how it went, if you care to share.

glad to see all your insightful suggestions, RVW.....you are certainly helping more than just glennnn.....I see a moonlighting opportunity as a counselor!

Definitely

Thanks, guys. Once a week at the LGBT center is plenty for now. Perhaps that can be my second career when I decide I've had enough work in financial services.

...This may be much too early to ask: Will you continue to hire escorts or look for a partner?...

If I may weigh in, there are good reasons to avoid looking for a partner shortly after coming out. First of all, you need friends in whom you can confide and from whom you derive support. To paraphrase a good friend, if your only gay friend is your partner, who is going to talk you down when you are angry with him? Second, you have a lot to work through between coming out to and working with your wife as you both decide whether to continue your marriage and, if so, how the new marriage will work. Third, you have a new world to explore. Find a friend or two to guide you through it.

Very insightful advice. You want to think carefully about timing and wording.

FreshFluff makes an excellent point (as she is wont to do).

As much as I support your desire and anyone else's desire to come out to a spouse, child, other family member, or friend, once you come out there is no turning back. This isn't intended to scare you. Come out to your wife when you feel right doing it. There is no timetable, there is no deadline, and no one gets a toaster oven for coming out. This is all about you. When you feel ready to share this piece of yourself, share it.

However, I do recommend against coming out at a major holiday, birthday, anniversary. Sharing this piece of yourself is a gift, but it isn't THAT kind of a gift. :)

This forum is great for many things and this thread represents one of the best. Great advice offered, the most important in my opinion being to seek qualified professional therapist to allow you an open, safe avenue to discuss you, your journey, and what is best for your life. Everyone's journey is different, but we can all share in having one and support one another in what works best for you. Wishing you peace and encouragement.
