We've been hearing about the return of Los Angeles-Las Vegas service since the Desert Wind was discontinued in 1997.

I say good. One, for the apparent reason, and the other because if it's successful maybe the East Coast will get one. They've been talking about getting one from NYC to DC for years.

It's been talked about in Australia for years as well. Sydney to Melbourne is about the 4th busiest airline city pair in the world, and fast rail would eat into that.

Depending on you starting point and ending point, it may actually still be quicker and cheaper to fly between LV and LA if you figure door-to-door time.

I am a fan of train travel and have used it several times between LA and San Diego. I'd love the convenience of high speed rail to Vegas. But I suspect I will be very old before it ever happens.....I hope Gov. Brown is more successfully with his HSR project.

Even if the train goes online, Vegas Escorts and LA escorts will still have a 4 hour round trip commute to the, ear, um, other venue.

 

And it will cost hundreds to make the trip.
