Assuming that Rentboy is a think of the past, what do we (clients and providers) do now--and going forward? What sites are able to pick up where Rentboy left off? I've found operational problems with Rentmen (their search engine does not work well at all). I've used Men4RentNow in the past, but found the quality of the listings to be, at times, questionable. Keep in mind that many of us do not live in New York City nor Los Angeles, so finding out what is going on and who is currently working in my town (local provider or traveler) is important.

Your thoughts--from both providers and clients--are appreciated!!!

As a client, I'm glad I spent my first year+ meeting as many guys on my wish list as possible. I'll continue to see my favorite guys as long as they are still working. No website needed.

Same here. I'm happy with who I have..

Well some of us got a late start, and don't have the stable that you claim. :(

Call someone you've met before.

Hire now. Guys are frightened and bookings are down. Rent is due in two days.

Today you have an exceptional opportunity: You can help a friend in need, make a political statement, and get laid - - all at the same time.

Deej make an excellent point.

Over the years I have used rentboy primarily for eye candy. If I happen to find a guy I'm interested in hiring there I pull up this site and look for reviews. If the reviews are recent and good I proceed. All one needs to do is go to the review section click on "by area", select your state and then city, if it is listed separately, and start scanning. My guess is that rentmen will fill the void left by the absence of rentboy, in fact, it already appears to be doing so.

I wouldn't expect to hear much from the status quo from this board who consistently promotes high rates.

Personally my thoughts are mixed. On the one hand, there will be absolutely no effect on the high end referral market (the models and actors etc that never advertised to begin with). To them it will be business as usual. But yes, on the other spectrum of the market, there should be a gradual "crash" of rates as escorts who have not adopted a business model of catering to core regular clients scramble to reach new clients and grab market share. There will be escorts on travel with ads planned out in advance that will not have any way to reach potential hires in their new locations. The were will be many escorts forced back to craigslist, backpage, etc. and let's face it, the other sites aren't exactly the same. But, eventually, they will find what works for them.

The sad part is, some escorts and clients who saw each other won't even be able to contact each other because the only way they did in the past was through rentboy and now that method has been taken away *poof*.

I think you are overestimating the impact of the RB bust. Yes, the immediate impact was very disruptive, but already the market is reorganizing itself. For example, I was struck by how quickly Michael V. got out ahead of it and started modifying his business practices. His resourcefulness is admirable.

Three months from now, RB will be a distant memory.

It was just my opinion. You think I'm wrong- more power to you. I didn't know opinions were right or wrong, thought they were just opinions.

I personally would rather give up using escorts than use Men4rentnow, but that's again is just my opinion! Rentmen has some definite potential, I hope they are able to become the goto site and make it work for the masses.

Agree completely. An expressed opinion carries with it an implicit invitation to agree or disagree with same. Sorry your feelings were hurt.

Hey geminibear,

I wish I had a stable of studs to choose from. I started hiring at the beginning of 2014 and, like I said, met as many guys on my wish list as I could. That would be 8. As of now, I have 3 guys I want to continue meeting. One is fairly close, one is 800 miles away, and one travels constantly, so our schedules are hit-or-miss. Some stable, huh. I'll be patient, see my "Studs" when I can, and wait for this RB firestorm to blow over.
