I think this is more about the money laundering and possible tax evasion (not mentioned, but I bet it might be soon). I cannot imagine the government would go after thousands upon thousands of rentboys and probably tens of thousands of clients over the years for what? It's hardly a major crime, as I believe it is a misdemeanor in most cases. I bet lots of criminal defense lawyers are licking their chops all over NYC.
