I would like to fly in an escort to my home town for my birthday weekend in October. I have never met him, but I asked about him on this forum and got multiple recommendations from forum members. Any advice, steps I should take? Is it too risky?

His name is Mike from NYC. It seems his ad is down now, but we have been texting.

I am a big skeptic. One of the last who would recommend doing an overnight before hiring for an hourly. That being said, I flew Mike (of LA at the time) to my home town never having met him and the whole thing really couldn't have gone any smoother. There was not a moment that I didn't feel safe or comfortable around him and I had a great time. If you decide to do it, I hope you have a wonderful time as well. All the best to you.

I have hired guys for multi-nights with no prior experience with them, often involving travel. Every meeting was a success. I have two meetings scheduled next month that fit this category. And yes, sometimes these guys have no reviews at all. 15 years in the hobby, I trust my instincts more than reviews.

The greatest risk is that you don't click. If so, be honest and call it quits. No reason to struggle through a whole weekend. Pay him his full fee and an additional amount to cover a hotel room, meals, and incidentals. Wish him well and send him on his way. Lesson learned.

To avoid that scenario, you need more than forum recommendations and texts. Forum recommendations from actual clients who write reviews are best (some folk around here don't hire and never have; this is a game/fantasy for them.) Beyond researching this escort's reviews, search the reviews of those whose recommendations you are trusting. Their idea of fun and yours may not align.

Why is his ad down? Ask him. He may be trying to quit, flaming out, tired. I don't know, but you don't want a conflicted companion showing up who needs the cash but would rather be anywhere else.

Your texts, emails, phone call, FaceTime, etc with him needs to be spot-on, easy-going, everything clear, encouraging, enthusiasm from him, and easy to make arrangements. If it gets weird, unclear, or difficult, end this fantasy immediately.

Good luck!

The voice of wisdom!

Communicate with the guy before you meet by phone/FaceTime/Skype -- human to human. A few minutes of that will let both of you learn so much about the other, intuitively and emotionally, that will be crucial to knowing if you will be a good fit.

Thank you for the excellent advice! Partner and I love your blog btw. Brought over one of your recommendations for a weekend. It was awesome.

Jawjateck have you ever considered conducting an webinar on this topic? I would attend for sure.
