After reading yesterday some postings in another forum, I find myself really nostalgic of my younger years before Intenet, when street cruising was mainstream. Of course I was younger and much more attractive and very successful in Buenos Aires and New York streets. To pick up the young, athletic boys I am into, I am sure now I have to pay. I know that in many South American and other underdeveloped regions, street cruising is still very popular, if not mainstream.

My question is, nowadays in the USA, especially in Washington DC, are there any areas where you can pick up young, healthy male escorts?

My last experiences with street hook ups where 6/7 years ago, before I gained weight, and always in the DuPont Circle hood, close to the gay bars in the area. Does anybody know of bars or streets in DC where we can hunt for young escorts?

Thank you!

With everyone on internet I don't know why anyone would - though from the recent sting there are still female 'walkers. No idea where guys would be though. Maybe near the Capitol? :p

Why don't you go hang out at the bathrooms or parks. I'm not sure if they'll be young or even healthy but I think there's still people like you trolling them. Just watch out for them vice cops.

However, whatever you do just be careful. You might get the shit kicked out of you for trying to blow the wrong guy.

"People like me". It looks like you think you know who I am. I never did bathrooms, but my hook ups from the street gave me great, enjoyable experiences. Whatever happened to you, I am very sorry. But I am not going to pretend I know anything about you, besides this hateful message.

Sorry but you really want advice for picking up young guys on the street? My advise is just don't do it. The only thing you'll pick up is the police's attention.

Thank you for rephrasing your advice. I do appreciate it and do take it and listen to you.

Do you think the police is still after this in a big city? Yes, we have right now on the news all about the DC police going after street prostitution, but I understand they are focus only in straight prostitution.

if neighbors or near-by business owners/families/what-have-you complain to the police about the shenanigans going on in that public bathroom/alley/empty storefront/street corner, watch out!.....

we don't want you to be the next mugshot or murdered client

I made the comment years ago saying that no one seems to cruise any more. It all seems they have all the faces in their phones. The last time I remember being cruised was on the Metro a couple of years ago in DC.

I don't think I would be into cruising now knowing how the internet works. But back in the day I guess I guess I would either think it was natural or be forced into it as one of the only venues. Although the image in my mind is of guys maybe living on the street, standing on the corner smoking cigarettes, wanting to get high which are not the kind of guys I prefer hiring now. Is my image of street guys wrong?

Another question-when y'all did this? Did you proceed to have sex in the car or did y'all go some place -your home or to a hotel or bathhouse? Maybe it's due to my increasing avoirdupois and age, but sex in the car sounds extremely uncomfortable.

I agree with you....a totally disrespectful reply....I am old enough to have Christopher St and the trucks on Washington St....The Brambles in Central Park....on my cruising resume....guaranteed...a lot of guys are lucky to have a computer to hide behind....and would never be successful on the streets....a lost art in my opinion....

I cannot talk for others, but my experiences were mixed, depending on the cruising area. Most of my adventures took place in Buenos Aires. And most of them in the Barrio Norte and the Avenida Santa Fe, gay friendly areas. There I would hook up with regular gay guys (I was in my 20s and 30s) and go to my place or theirs. In more marginal areas, like Retiro, a huge transportation hub, or Lavalle, a pedestrian street, I would go for young gay for pay guys. In my 30s and 40s I did it a lot in NYC, mostly in both villages and in Chelsea, regular gay guys I connected with on the streets and then go to their places. I moved to DC in my 40s, but never did street cruising over there. I never did bathrooms, not because I think it is wrong, I just never liked it. I would say that 80% of my experiences were clean, safe, just like hooking up in a regular gay bar. The other 20% did involve some level of risk. But the hunting was always very exciting.

I loved Christopher St and the whole West Village. During the day you had hot AU college students to pick up in the wash sq area, at night commuters in their way back home after working or hitting the bars. Street cruising paradise!

...just like hooking up in a regular gay bar.

You may not know my history as you've been a member but not around much. I was a total virgin until the age of 41-I hadn't even Fr kissed anyone. My 1st experience of any sex at all was with an escort I met up with at 41. The first time I had non-paid for sex I was 50. Now I occasionally 'hook-up' but it happens only slightly more often than leap year. I don't relate that to bore you. But to let you know that when you say 'just like hooking up in a gay bar', I have no experience with that at all because it's never happened to me.

But you telling me your experience with cruising was really interesting. And I appreciate it.

Another question-if so many of the guys you 'hook-ed' up with were like at a gay bar-then in your case, most of these guys were not paid experiences?

My impression, and I could be entirely wrong, but I thought when guys mentioned cruising on here-I think they often mention Ventura Blvd in LA-they were talking about meeting escorts and not just finding regular guys to hook-up with.

You do not bore me Gman. Sexual experiences are never boring. Maybe disgusting but never boring. :)

You are correct, most of my street experiences did not involve money. I think this is a forum to discuss escorts, so we focus on that, but out of my overall experiences, street hooking up was mostly out of lust, not money. When I compare it with cruising and hooking up in a bar, I talk about the way you play with looking at each other and locking your eyes when there is a coincidence.

Yes, our histories are pretty different and that can easily bring misunderstandings.

My earliest cruising occurred when I moved to NYC in the late 80s. Goodness, I was like a kid in the candy store. I could go to the grocery store to do some shopping and come out with a man instead. My biggest gripe against internet cruising is that one can not really discern chemistry in terms of something you can tell right off the bat with the guy face-to-face.

I never much liked the idea of cruising per se, cruising for it's own sake, but I really enjoyed meeting people spontaneously, e.g. I'm out buying groceries, I start chatting a man up and before we know it, we're home in bed together. That sort of think happened regularly and I had some memorable experiences that way.

I remember a long time ago the piers in lower Manhattan before NYC turned into a Disney World - tons of cruising at night, lots of dark private areas. Fast forward to now here in Miami - I miss those days where there was live visible physical instant attraction, the Internet changed all that and has made it - in my opinion - harder cause you never know who is real, who has fake pics and Internet attracts tons of flakes as well.

This is a good discussion..it says more about being able to have a conversation..face to face...and knowing what sexual chemistry really is. That cannot be gleaned from a computer screen. In the late 1960's/early 70's I lived in the West Village...The streets were packed with men almost 24/7...Just regular guys that either lived there or came to meet somebody. Very few problems ever...I met so many men that are still friends today....we walked...talked....went to eat...The restaurants were full of gay men...Looking (cruising) was just a given...The Riviera...David's Potbelly...The Gallery..The Star..all good restaurants..coffee houses....The front stoops were full of men looking...talking to each other...Maybe someone would stop and talk with you....You had a connection and decided to go eat...or go home with him...Bars lined the streets...parks were packed with guys all looking to meet a friend or partner. Men would gather at night and go to dance..drink...maybe a movie...

The whole scene was very open..friendly...just so different from today....although I was walking on Christopher St a few weeks ago and watched as a male couple held hands....kissed...laughed...all in public...on the street..and no one gawked or pretended to be shocked...Progress!

Thickornotatall, I remember those days as well in the Village. There's nothing like actual face to face meeting.

THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. Nostalgic here....

Now when you go to the old cruising places everyone is looking at their smart phones.
