Reading the society column of this weekends SF Chronicle, a wealthy female socialite was asked if she had a pre-nup with her new 'wife'. Apparently this drew a long stare, and guttural groan.

 

Now that everyone is so thrilled about same-sex marriage, can't you see the 'breaking news': First Same Sex Divorce! (And all the fly-over state people laughing, "See Gertrude, thats what those poofters get")

 

Will the lawyers be the ultimate winners in all this?

The first gay divorce has already happened in Masachusetts. Do you think they broke up because of lawyers? Neither do I. But I'll be damn sure that they will be glad that lawyers are there for them when they need them. I'll bet they'll be damn sure glad that lawyers took the time to study and learn the rules that apply to the situation they got themselves in to. And they will be damn sure glad when the situation ends in a satisfactory way and they can move on with their lives... thanks to the lawyers.

 

So, glutes, let's not get gratuitous digs in at the very people we need when we fuck up.

Why Lucky, could it be that you are a lawyer? Seems to me that the only persons satisfied at the end of a divorce are the lawyers. The involved couple usually is happy to have gotten out alive.
