If you follow the link below you'll see that one can be converted to the rank of "guest". Most recently in late 2013 ... remember our friend "VeryMarried"?

There are several others from HooBoy times.

Thanks for that link, which encapsulates what I was getting at in my comment on the "What if your escort were married?" thread.

I too appreciated Chris's posts and his sincere desire to be of help to people. I know his advice helped me navigate my way around IML better. And everyone here probably realizes I'm a fan of looking at things from a fresh perspective.

Besides, Chris so far is the only person to whom I've talked up the manga and anime series from which my avatar comes who's actually looked at it. :)

I would like to point out a feature that most forums have - the 'ignore' list. It comes in really handy. When there is that absymally-stupid forum member that drives you crazy, yet you don't have the self-discipline to ignore his/her posts, you just give up and add the offender to your 'ignore' list; he/she vanishes into oblivion, out of sight and out of mind.

So true, and the new forum software is superior to the older product. When an ignorant and/or malicious thingy is "ignore"d......poof......it just completely disappears. Sweet feature!

You're right - I really like the seamlessness of the new product.

Chris did find a means to communicate as a guest so I don't think he is gone per say. Jawja succinctly stated sometimes a person needs a breather. Whatever Chris's opinions were they were something he believed in and help bring knowledge to the readers. Discourse can be great thing if we all treat participants with respect regardless of the subject matter. Participation by gentlemen is for me on the key elements to my participating here in the first place. It would be great if more people would learn to step away from their keyboard when they feel their emotionally levels rising and breathe. I am sure he will find a way to participate if he feels strong enough about the subject.

An approach Ann Landers (I believe) used to recommend way back before the internet. When you had something burning you up and you wanted to tell the person about it, write a letter. Address it. Then put it away for a day or two, and come back and read it later to see if you still felt that hurt/angry about it.
