I wish all gossip, not just gay-related gossip could end, but it is probably not going to happen, WG2. In an ideal world, individuals can stop gossiping themselves, and realize they are subject of gossip and not care. As Tonyko writes, there is gossip everywhere on this site (and on every other site on the Internet where people interact in a message forum.

OKAY so sue me if I feel the greatest literary contributions of our time came from Flaubert, Joyce, Proust, Hedda Hopper and Louella Parsons. And I'll FIGHT anyone who disagrees with my right to say so! *I'll meet you outside the Barney's sample sale ANYTIME you say !;););)

Barnabas Collins, played by Jonathan Frid.

My first horror experience--loved watching that show when I was four years old....

I loved and was so scared by that show. I didn't watch the first year or so. I think I started watching in 1st grade in 1967 when I was 6. It came on after school. In passing I should mention that All My Children started in 1970 and was on either right before or right after Dark Shadows, and I watched it too-I thought Phillip Brent (Richard Hatch) was really handsome. And of course Louis Edmonds who was gay played Roger Collins on Dark Shadows and years later played Prof. Langley Wallingford on All My Children. Although at the time he came on AMC, it had been so many years, I didn't recognize him.

Is it me or does Barnabas seem to have quite a full package?

Looks that way! Although I never heard any tittle-tattle...

Next time I make it to a ShadowFest I'll have to ask Lara Parker what the rumor mill said about that.

Gosh, I thought Lara was beautiful as a child watching the show. I still remember the scene where she acting as Josette's maid right before Josette's marriage to Barnabas. She made some kind of supposed good luck charm. And cried until Josette consented to wear it on the wedding gown. Josette put it on and ran away or just refused to go through with the wedding. Eventually Angelique (Lara) -1st time I had ever heard that name, Angelique-only known 1 or 2 since- marries Barnabas. He finds out she's a witch. She curses him and the bats bite him which is how he becomes a vampire.

Your comments make me question why I even joined the site. There are many more accepting sites then what you offer.

There are?

Do you have a link for another site that contains discussions similar to what is discussed on this site?

There are lots of chat rooms but I don't think there is another quite like this site.

Link?

Thanks

(silence :) And I was 19 at the time. You're an asshole @19, anyone over 30 was "old" lol. Plus (silence) SEEMED older than he prolly was, in fact I was surprised to read his age above I would have thought early 60's. But point taken perhaps using the world "older" was a stretch my bad. (btw this happened TWICE working for that SAME catering Co. lol. Also an actor, not drunk, not SUPER famous but pretty well known since he'd been working forever movies opposite K Hepburn hit TV series etc I just checked he's now EIGHTY-SEVEN, so THAT story I woulda' been justified saying "older" lol. (PPS BTW I was a cute lil guy, blonde blue eyes Northrn Ital, but not HOT by any stretch of the imagination esp compared to the 6ft handsome actor/waiters around me so it wasn't like I was a looker or anything. I think it may have been my really tight pants my roomie at the time worked for the same co and I wore his black pants a lot when mine were dirty and he was even smaller than me, so I prolly looked "easy" :)

Hey Tony, I'm sending you a PM about this.

I answered, and yes keep it priv. Re the other PM's NO the Dark Shadows guy was a gentlemen always ate alone and read while he ate :-) And the place was a very old world Bev Hills restaurant for the Gay Hollywood old guard lol, lots o' old (glass- closeted I guess?) TV stars and movie stars. I only worked there a year from like 19-20 but I had ID said I was 21 my SS# etc could have busted me but I guess no one ever checked for my real age lol. One guy was the brother of an old MGM B movie queen(now in her late 90's I checked) he "liked" me lol and knowing I was a classic movie buff always brought in old stars to impress me, like the chick who played Barbara Stanwyck's daughter in Stella Dallas she was a very old lady by that point but I fuckng luvd it. The other waiters would always come to me n ask who they were waiting on he a famous old actor ?? etc lol. N I'd say like yah he danced w Natalie Wood in blah blah etc :-) Oh and the owner Don took me and some of the boys to his house in Palm Springs and we went to his friends house who was some big porn producer, OMFG it was like PORN CAMP lol! He kept all these boys there working out and getting tan to prep for their shoots. I was still kinda naive, so I was shocked that they walked around outside and by the pool tots naked AND shocked that they were talking about chicks and seemed to be mostly Str8. It was VERY educational. (and painfull since I came home w a stiff neck from my head spinning so much)

This is awesome - I love hearing about old Hollywood !

Can you imagine what that would be like today - "And next on your TMZ Tour Bus itinerary..."

Hmmm. . .in his physical appearance, Mr. Travolta is a rollin' troll; the game is done with him, gravity, as always, having been the winner. Fortunately, perhaps, "celebrity" has never been an attraction for me; actors fall into that that social "category" made up of dentists and undertakers who were not received, by reason of their professions, in one's home or entertained at table, and, which is not to deride their respective skills. I applaud anyone, male or female, for their forbearance in undertaking to have a romp with him.

Yah lol. Sadly the place (The Carriage Trade) as well as most of the old clientele (and much of the young wait staff) are gone. (the latter lost to the plague, this was a bad time 89-90)
