Since we're talking a adult drinks, here's one for you, the Rock Hard Woody:

Gar Woods Grill & Pier (5000 N Lake Blvd; Carnelian Bay)

Since it's easily the most alcoholic drink in the LT, you can only order two of Gar Woods' Rock Hard Woody, likely because it features 151, light rum, peach schnapps, juices, sweet and sour, and TWO MORE 151 SHOTS FLOATED ON TOP.

Catchy name. Once upon a time I used to enjoy 3 martini lunches. Those days are gone. Now, I stick to moderate amounts of beer and wine plus an occasional cocktail when out--Manhattans in the winter, gin and tonic in the summer and generally no more than 2. If I consume more than that, the body protests.

I wasn't suggesting that you shouldn't do that, just that your partner should not expect that sort of thing. Having drinks ready would be such a nice touch. I've never done that, and it hasn't affected the session.

Since I will be staying there for 4 nights, I thought it would be a good thing to have some drinks (and snacks) in the room for guests and for self.

I've supplied beer and wine before, although nobody ever drank very much of it if any. Somehow, I managed to dispose of the left overs myself.

I can see why you would arrange wine, glasses, dates and grapes with such a man. He would sweep me off my feet! Whether he used the wine etc or not is a separate question!!

To clarify, two different guys. However, guy #1 (didn't get to the wine) indeed has swept me off my feet every time we have gotten together! Guy #2 is also a sweetheart, in addition to being a beautiful hunk. I need to hire him again soon.

Great post/question. I used to ask the same question, since I normally hire for overnights. I've gotten some unexpected replies though. Usually it's "What do you mean by that?" And I have to explain that I want to be a good host, provide their preferred drink/snack, or adult beverage. Now I provide my spirit of choice, soft drinks, and bottled water. They can choose any or all.

We hadn't discussed meeting in the bar, but that is looking like a good idea.

we still don't have you convinced?!!!?....it's SO easy since security requires you to meet downstairs anyway.....text "I'm wearing the plaid shirt and jeans"....then catch each other and drift over to the conveniently nearby bar....relax and chitchat to break up the ice.....then suggest moving up to the room where the refrigerator you requested be put in the room (you're staying a week, get a refg and don't rely on the ice bucket as one!) has some cold water in it you got at the Planet Hollywood Walgreen's......

Seems everyone drinks hard liquor and no two want the same kind. Is this a Vegas thing? Most of the guys I have seen previously have accepted water, nothing at all, or occasionally beer or a glass of wine. It was not my intent to offer a fully equipped open bar.

If you don't have a lot of luggage, perhaps you could convert one of your closets.

Just be sure and put a tip jar next to the pigs knuckles. . http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Something I'm surprised hasn't come up: I wouldn't have drinks "at the ready" for when an escort shows up.

Common advice these days is to never drink a drink you haven't seen personally prepared. You're putting an escort into an awkward position. In meeting you, they're taking a risk. They don't know you--clients don't have reviews.

When presented with a drink, their options are to take a chance drink a possibly spiked drink. Or you're forcing them to be awkward by saying, "Sorry, I can't drink this, because I don't trust you."

You mean like, "Have some Madeira, m'dear?" (I love that song--Flanders & Swan.)

That hadn't occurred to me. If the escort is nervous, he could always just say, no thanks to a drink--no reason need be given. None of these guys, with their varied beverage requests, seem to have had any concerns about being drugged. The last one to respond just told me that water would be fine, thank you very much. One of the reasons I booked the guys I booked, is they all have long term reputations to uphold. I am so totally non-threatening it is ridiculous, but of course they don't know that. Not expecting this to be an issue.

The gentlemen I used said 'no' the first time we got together. I guess I assumed that he wanted to be on the top of his game rather than that I appeared to be the next Bill Cosby. The next time we shared a nice drink and it has continued that way. Sometimes wine, sometimes hard liquor. In fact, he started to bring libations on certain dates, even if the event took place at my house. I guess he always assumed that I knew that he was never going to have to spike anything to get me to have sex. Believe me, I was more than willing.

...Was trying to avoid walking, cabbing, or busing up and down the strip in hot weather not knowing the city. Maybe it is really easy. Don't know.

Yes, it will be hot.

From NY NY you can walk across the skybridge towards Excalibur. At the end of the skybridge bear left into the free elevated tram station. Ride it (air conditioned) to Mandalay Bay. You can then walk back towards NY NY using inside walkways / moving walkways (air conditioned). At the beginning of the walkway is Minus 5 Ice Bar (expensive but your ARE surrounded by ice). You will wander through shopping to Luxor and eventually end up in Excalibur. So, for about 2 minutes outside going across the skybridge, you can actually wander around quite a bit in air conditioned comfort.

Free elevated trams also run between City Center / Aria to Bellagio and between Mirage to Treasure Island.

The monorail (not free) serves several hotels on the east side of the Strip.

You can buy a bus pass for ($8?) that is good on any RTC bus for 24 hours from the time purchased.

Get yourself free Player’s Cards at the various casinos. They often include special freebee’s (2 for 1 drinks, discounted show tickets, 2-1 buffets / restaurant meals, etc) when they are issued. The most important ones to obtain for the Strip would be MLife (7 MGM Properties), Grazie (Venetian/Palazzo), TR Total Rewards (7 Caesar’s Entertainment Properties).

There are often street vendors on the skybridges selling cold bottled water. Much cheaper than anything inside the hotels or even CVS/Walgreens. Just verify the cap seal is intact before purchasing.

My last hire, on the confirmation text he mentioned that we had not discussed alcohol, he suggested if I wanted a drink to bring something with me, I responded might bring a bottle of red as I had a battle handy. Response was perfect. Turned up had a glass or two chatted then had. A Very hot time together.

Just hang around the casino, pretend your gambling by one of the tables, and you'll get your drinks for free (and a tip to the cocktail waitress).

+1

With its large, usually crowded tables, craps is an especially easy game to hang around and look as if you're playing, without actually doing so.

Most credible guys do not drink on duty and usually will ask for water or a soft drink if thirsty. Unless this is an overnight and you've seen the guys before (not sure about the former, clearly not in the case of the latter), I'd skip the liquor service and would not even have thought to ask. You might have something around that you like and would be willing to share, but even so, credible guys usually want something w/o a broken seal on it which makes beer the most practical alcoholic beverage.

Very broad-brush statement that does not align with my experience at all. I could agree most "credible" guys do not get falling-down drunk on duty.

On a first meeting. ;)

This is a good point. Or an unopened bottle of anything.

... I emailed each to ask what he liked to drink figuring beer, wine, soda, bottled water (my suggestions in the emails) would cover. Wrong!

So far I have requests for:

Tequila and 7-Up (ugh)

Crown Royal

Dirty Vodka Martinis with Blue Cheese stuffed olives

Cosmopolitans ...

Funny no one asked for an Angry Dutch Orgy :) (A name for a fake alcoholic mix drink. Ordered when you are trying to make a pass at the bartender. you ask for an 'angry dutch orgy' naturally the bartender will have no clue what you're talking about so you offer to go behind the bar and show them how to make it, it is mainly an excuse to get in physical contact with the bartender.)

Frankly, I think you've been way too kind, Despardo. Nobody would expect you to provide these cocktails in your room, unless your name is 'bartender' and your hotel room looks like this:

Wise words. http://i.imgur.com/hMKDFgz.gif http://i.imgur.com/hMKDFgz.gif

Most people I know wouldn't accept an alcoholic beverage on a first time visit, especially if you're hiring for an hour or two. I'd make sure to have cold bottled water and a few drinks of your choice, just in case.

Don't overthink this and make sure you drink plenty of water in the desert. ;) Have fun in Vegas!
