I had an unfortunate experience with a masseur several months ago. Without going into details, there was a legitimate miscommunication about payment, and he believed that I owed him additional money (20 dollars). I would have been glad to give it to him. After he left, he realized that I paid him 20 dollars less than he believed he was owed, so he called and yelled at me, which caught me off guard. I'm not out to stiff anyone and I offered to pay it to him, but this did not appease him. He continued to call and text and make some ridiculous threats, until I said, "please stop. You are scaring me. I will give you 20 dollars to just leave me alone." He replied something to the effect of, "forget it, but you don't contact me, and I won't contact you." And that was that. (Or so I thought.) I have never had an experience like this before. Certainly, if I am not prepared to pay for any kind of service, I am not going to hire someone to provide it! I'm not going to put myself through that kind of trouble for 20 dollars (or any amount of money).

Months later, I googled my name for whatever reason and see a hit come up on Bad Boy Report. The report includes my full name, phone number, some educational info that can be found on LinkedIn, and a comment that I'm a "sexual predator preying on those in the gay sex trade." I don't hire often and the only person who posted this could have been that masseur. The statement is false and really troubles me.

Has anyone had a similar experience? If you are an escort or masseur, and you believe that a client wronged you in some way and posted it on Bad Boy Report, what could the client do in order for you to take down the post? For any readers, what would you do if you were in my situation?

I'm sorry this happened to you. First thing you need to do is get a new phone -a pay as you go phone for encounters. Next is to dissociate your present number from Linked In, Facebook, etc and get a new number that you don't use for encounters.

Unfortunately there is not much you can probably do about the info that is already out there.

Here is a thread from when it happened to me.

Wow, never heard of this site before. Googling suggests it's aimed mostly as cheating husbands. Or is it just for escorts to review clients? I tried to go to the site but got an error message.

Over the years, I've debated getting a second phone for this purpose.

Is the new phone number ( pay-as-you-go / no contract) actually anonymous or just a separate number not tied to the rest of your life?

From some of the posts talking about paying cash for the phone and adding minutes via cash only, it sounds like people are trying to keep the whole thing anonymous (like the "burner" phone the TV police shows are always stumped by). But, from what I can tell, it always seems like you have to give your information to someone when you sign-up for the service.

Could someone clarify how this actually works? Or point me toward an example (and I'll google it myself).

Ok it's been awhile since I've done it. But say buying a Trac Fone. You don't have to give them your name or contact info-although you can. You buy the phone. There are instructions with the phone on how to activate it. It is possible to activate the phone without giving them any of your personal information. And then one way to refill them is to buy Minute Cards-they are available at places like 7/11, drugstores, and Best Buy. The cards have serial numbers which you enter on the phone. Now if you think about it, if you were to buy the Minute Card with a credit card, your credit number would be associated with the specific serial number of the Minute Card. But I doubt an escort or masseur could find it out. I'm assuming the government could. On the other hand pay cash for the phone and and cash for the Minute Cards-and I don't see how an escort could find you-although again I'm assuming government could probably track you down by cell tower use and possibly voice recognition technology

Gman - Thanks.

Googling Trac Fone gave me a good start on figuring out an approach I'm comfortable with. Since I'm not doing anything nefarious (only potentially embarassing), I just need a garden-variety level of anonymity, not super-secret, hide-from-the-government level stuff in any case.

Several months ago I bought a 'bone-phone' at Best Buy, clerk never asked for real name or ID.

When asked, I registered under Alex Portnoy, and I have a complaint!

Lol, good name and complaint!

Obviously varies from country to country. I've bought new phones or sim cards a couple of times and had to produce the same ID that I'd need to open a bank account (drivers' licence + credit card or medicare card).

Protecting oneself from unsavory characters is always a concern in dealing with this industry (or any other unregulated industry) because of our countries puritanical roots.

Skip this whole burner phone thing and jump into the 21st Century. Google VOICE is a free service that you can sign up for. You get a fake telephone number that when called forwards to your real number and the other person on the line will never know. You can also block numbers with the click of a mouse. The only thing I don't like about it is that you can't text pics.... which is why.. While your on Google... just get yourself a play email address for those of you who don't already have one.

I've got a Google Voice number but have always wondered if it (like a regular cell) will show my name when I call?

Alec, I've received pics through GV text. Think he was using GV text as well, but can't be sure. (Also, you would know whether GV gives my name. (we met in both NYC and DC on your last trip, which I'm guessing will give away my Daddy's alias :D) Any recollection? Also also, please get your beautiful self back to the EC soon, please!:cool::cool:)

I actually had a popular escort tell me he didn't trust clients with Google Voice Numbers.

When I get a text, GV only alerts me of the text and gives me a website link to review it.

Hmmm. Did he say why? I doubt there's an escort in the universe who uses their private cell number for business calls.

I'm interested in this, not just for anonymity, but also for having a phone number that can follow me around to various mobile and landline phones. Can callers even tell if you are using a GVN?

I think he said he found them less trustworthy.

Alec,

I love you to pieces BUT it is "country's" not "countries". Do you realize that in all the years I have known you this is the first imperfect thing about you! This is a historical moment that will most likely never be repeated in my lifetime.

However, this does not distract from all of your other wonderful attributes.

Many escorts I know, includung myself dont interact with someone further if I find out they are using a Google voice #. I learned this within the first month of escorting. Too many cancels, too many no shows and too many people not using Google voice to be bothered with that one potential client who is using it.

I invest in two different cell phones on two different carriers. A private and a public line. If your business relies on getting calls, its an investment. Skip the free service that is known to be unreliable, and stick with a reliable carrier. Just my suggestion.

Then I'm sad we'll never meet.:( But, what's a (not insubstantial) business expense for an escort is a (not insubstantial) personal expense for a potential client. And, two cell phone bills from two different carriers might pose some risk for some guys. Maybe add "No Google Voice" to the ubiquitous "No Blocked Calls"? I'd make an exception for the right guy I had an interest in.

Thanks for the info. That may explain the occasional lack of response I've had from one or two known legit escorts since going to GV.

I found the masseur on massagem4m. I saw some negative info that I should have taken more seriously. And, of course, I found even worse info once I discovered his post to the bad boy report, which is run through South Korea.

A secondary phone is a good idea and, I guess, shame on me for revealing info about myself. I've hired masseurs over the years, though, and have found that pretty much everyone acts like a professional.

For any pros out there, if you believed that you were wronged by a client, what could the client do to change your opinion of him?

Is this the website?

badboyreport.kr

If so it is based or routed through South Korea? Weird.

I've been using Google Voice for almost two years now and have never had a problem.... Very reliable and I love that I can text or receive calls on my computer as well.

And bigjoey...I had only had 1 cup of coffee this morning when I wrote the earlier post... but you will have to punish me this weekend for my mistake! :)

BigJoey if you are punishing him, please videotape and forward a copy to me. Make sure the sound quality is good because there is nothing quite a nice as the sound of a properly placed slap and the fine muscular ass of Alec Andrews, unless it is the little whimper he makes afterwards. lol

Bet you're still on video when purchasing the phone. Bet the transaction was time/date/the phone's serial number/the IMEI number. The phone still allows cell tower triangulation to track it's whereabouts all the time, unless maybe you can pull the battery.

And share all the data Google can mine about you, your habits, your interests, your associates --- strictly for the purpose of delivering targeted advertising to you... nothing else... nothing else at all, unless NSA demands it.
