Hey there I have been asked to model and do video shoots for titan and colt ..the colt shoot is this week and I wanted to get some feedback from you all on it.

 

I am not sure how many of you hire models based on their performance in vids?? What would you think of your regular guy doing porn?

I guess I am struggling and it is something that excites me and the guy that I am going to be working with is hot as hell...

but the money is not so great for videos of being fucked and stills...$1200.00

 

I have to know if it is a good advertising piece motivator for YOU guys.

 

To give you an idea playgirl paid 1200.00 for stills that are published in their magazine.

I too read the profile on Gaydar and somewhere in it he does say that age is not a huge issue. From being familiar with other Gaydar profiles, it is not uncommon for an escort to cast his comments as if he was looking for a bf, as Jason seems to do. Some also explicitly say they are escorts and that the comments that apply to the search for a bf do not necessarily apply where "generous" men are concerned. Jason does not say this in his profile but one can infer it with the "age is not a huge issue" comment.

 

Be that as it may, I think the fact that an escort has done a porn shoot would not affect my decision to hire. I have not seen a recent porn movie in years (my whole collection could qualify for the Smithsonian, it is so old!). Therefore I would be unlikely to see his performance on film. But I would want to know if he had been a bottom or top, so I would ask before hiring. (I prefer TOTAL tops). But then there have been times when a bottom has surprised me}(

I'm not particularly drawn to guys who have done porn, so it really wouldn't matter to me. I think you need to ask yourself whether $1,200 is reasonable compensation for someone else having the right to use your pictures wherever and however they want. It seems like a rather small fee to me, but then again I know nothing about what the typical fee is for porn performers.

In enjoy hiring porn stars as escorts and often buy their videos afterward (or before). Since you are getting a little older than most escorts, the fact that you have done recent porn and modeling should help you to extend your career into the future. I would suggest that you advertise "recent" Colt model and porn vid.

$1200 is actually pretty good for an unknown performer. The top studios pay the A-listers about $1500 for a shoot. It goes down rapidly from there. Some performers can command more, but they're rare. Ken Ryker can pretty much put any number he wants on the check, for example.

 

The sad truth about porn is that it's a lousy way to make a buck. (It's good advertising for escorts, though.) If a studio only wants to pay $400 for a scene, they can easily find a guy who will do it for that.

 

To qualify as an A-lister, a guy has to make several movies and build a fan base. Then he can command the top of the pay scale. But then he's considered over-exposed and nobody will use him, not to mention the steady flood of younger, prettier, more willing performers coming through the door every day.

 

Take the money and run. ;-)

I personally don't care if an escort has done porn or not. However there is the advantage that you can rent the film and see what you are getting ahead of time. So from that point of view, there's a benefit to the client -- and that is a real benefit given the amount of deception that goes on in profiles and internet photos. I do notice that most porn actors charge more, so I assume that they can actually get the fees they're asking.

Mikel and Swallows22 - Gaydar requires you to put in an age range. The default low number is 18, for legal reasons, but the upper end number can obviously go high.

 

When I first created my profile, I also put a lower upper number, but have since changed it to 75, which happens to simply be the age of the oldest client who has ever hired me.

 

I invariably get about 2-3 notes (similar to instance messages) or e-mails daily from my Gaydar site of guys looking for sex or boy friends (or to swap nude photographs). I am not looking for anything of those things. Gaydar is simply a very convenient way to upload and share photographs, the best I have been able to find, without charge.

 

I am not selling escort services via that site, no one can actually send me an e-mail without being registered, which as some clients have pointed out here, is a burdensome and time consuming hassle. Gaydar does have escort listings, for pay and frankly I only thing that would be of use if I lived in Europe, where Gaydar is actually a popular, highly visited site.

 

I believe your assumptions as to the upper end of this escorts age limitations, if he in fact even has any, are not accurate.

Colt is an exceptional company. If Colt only wanted to do print work (or one of the soft core videos), I believe I would do so, although print work only (either by myself or with somene) would be the ideal situation. Print work for any number of other magazines would be fine.

 

However, I noticed you do not show your face in any of your Gaydar photos, so on the assumption that this is an issue for you, I would not do it. Sometimes, the photographs live forever, with some print work of 1980s model still being used in advertisements to this date, for which the model gets no residuals.

 

Titan is a good company, but if the film is for their ManPlay line, I would not do it.

 

All in all, based on the limited amount of information you provided, I would state that is is not likely to get you significant additional clients as an escort given your circumstances. I also think the money, not matter how generous it may appear, is not sufficient.

Do it for the free advertizing, not for the money. Having done porn increases your marketability not only because a lot of people may have gotten off on the video and wanted to try it for themselves. Also, having done porn lets a client know what you're about. Having your face on a website also increases your marketability, unless you're ugly, in which case you wouldn't want to do the porn. Also, many potential clients worry less about getting into a police sting when their escort is a known porn actor, since porn actors are obviously not policemen.

I get occasionally requests for doing porn movies.

Depending on what you wish to do later in your life you can consider a porn carrier or not.

Bear in mind that escorting and porn aren't a life time job.

But if you're thrilled about it - go for it !

John Rutherford is the new president of Colt, after holding that same position at Falcon. Not sure why he left Falcon. However, I have hired guy who did porn for Falcon. They all spoke highly of Rutherford. At 37, you may not even get to meet him (nothing personal, but your porn career will be limited), but give it a shot.
