To post a picture: add [ img ] before the link and [ /img ] after. Do not use spaces between the brackets and img. I only used them to get this reply to post.

The guys who run this site (awesome guys by the way!!) have created a useful help page that answers this and other questions about posting. Click "Help" at the bottom right of a forum web page and then click on "BB codes".

Thanks for mentioning this; with all the changes and the small type/light color on blue, I hadn't noticed.

Also I have noticed with this new Forum software that if you post a picture yourself using the img function or a video using the video function then right before the picture or video the word IMG or VIDEO appears in the post. If you do the same things by using the "built-in" functions at the top of the box where we write our posts, the IMG and VIDEO don't appear in the post.

So to put a picture or video in a post using the "built-in" functions-for pictures click on the landscape icon next to the smiley face at the top of the message box and for videos click the icon that looks like film next to picture icon.

OK, I have to ask a really dumb question here. When you say: >>To post a picture: add [ img ] before the link and [ /img ] after.<<, are you referring to a pre-existing image already on the internet, such as something you'd find in google search? Or are you referring to a picture you can upload from your computer. If it's the latter, I am missing a step.

I think you can only post pictures that are already on the internet. If there's an upload function, I don't know where it is.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the built-in functions before Gar1eth did; the line of icons that start out with "B", "I", "U" over the posting window. Hover over them to see what they do, click on them to add an image or a link without having to type the stuff with the brackets yourself. For an example, for an image, just click on the icon that looks kind of like a graph; a popup window comes up and you can just paste the address of the image there.

Poolboy is right. They have to be web images with links that have file extensions like .jpg, . png, or similar at the end of the link.

The one exception I know is that I was able to upload a picture from my phone to use as my avatar.

Thanks Poolboy - this is much easier!
