(I hope this doesn't end up banished to the political section. ;-) ) Someone has introduced a bill into the House of Representatives to ban the use of "dirty words" on the airwaves. The bill actually goes so far as to list the words to be banned:

Go to http://thomas.loc.gov/ and enter HR 3687 as the bill number and you can read the actual bill, which bans the use of these words: "`shit', `piss', `fuck', `cunt', `asshole', and the phrases `cock sucker', `mother fucker', and `ass hole', compound use (including hyphenated compounds) of such words and phrases with each other or with other words or phrases, and other grammatical forms of such words and phrases (including verb, adjective, gerund, participle, and infinitive forms)."

Lenny Bruce just got posthumously pardoned, and now he's probably rolling over in his grave. :o

Notice the fucking assholes didn't ban words like: lobbist-bribe-soft money-payoffs-special interests and the list goes on. But then they were to busy telling us that they are are moral leaders and what is right and wrong as the intern was giving them a blow job under the lecturn. But I'm not bitter:)

I'd use all seven to describe congress...

They're right, that's a far more important mission for the FCC than seeing that there is diversity on our airwaves and that the public good is served! You know we wouldn't have this awful language if Rupert Murdock was simply allowed to own all the broadcasters!
