Oh my. Does that bring back memories. When I was but a young boy, I remember feeling something I couldn't explain whenever I saw Tab Hunter, Robert Wagner or Richard Chamberlain back in the 50's!!! It took me many years before I understood why! ;)

No 'feelings' on viewing Troy Donahue?

Funny. I found Troy attractive/pretty but I didn't feel that thrill of a frisson I felt with Hunter, Wagner & Chamberlain!

I feel the same way about Troy. Generically good-looking, but he never generated the heat those others did (for me).

It's funny, with the proliferation of all the free 'retro' TV stations cropping up (ME-TV, Antenna-TV, THIS-TV, DECADES-TV), I am reminded how much the the early TV landscape was populated by gorgeous men. It was not just a cliche how much good looks played in launching and sustaining Hollywood careers - and not just for women.

Presently unemployed, I am having a ball watching the likes of Edson Stroll (McHALE"S NAVY), Ty Hardin (BRONCO), Gary Conway (BURKE'S LAW), Van Williams (GREEN HORNET), Hugh O'Brian (WYATT EARP), James Fransiscus (NAKED CITY), to name just a few on those channels.

Oh my. Tab Hunter is still a handsome man at 83. Him, Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, and Steve McQueen back in the day were all hot men. Paul Newman is more of my "Back in the day" hunk for me. ;). Tab Hunter and Rock Hudson would be the second choices. LOL.

Still looking hot Tab. God has blessed you tremendously. :):):):)

Early this morning I checked out most of these guys in their prime on YouTube as the mystery guests on the 1950s/1960s panel show "What's My Line." Glad BabyBoomer mentioned Sal Mineo. To me, Sal came across as the most sexy, and I am not usually attracted to Italian men.

Very few of the mystery guests are still alive. The children from "The Sound of Music" and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

I was always smitten by Tab Hunter and some of my buddies couldn't understand why I liked him so much...the same with Rock Hudson.. and Richard Chamberlin. I also appreciated most of the guys all mentioned above, but none of them made my motor run as much as Tab and Rock.... Tab is still a stud IMHO even at this age...so sad about Rock. I had a good friend in LA who died of AIDS, but he used to tell me about some of the private parties at Rock's place, as he was a frequent guest, and most of the salacious stories you have heard about them are probably true. Rock Hudson had an insatiable appetite for sex and he was well equipped to handle his appetites according to my friend. May he RIP.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was once in a chat room with porn pup Lucky Daniels. I told him he reminded me of a young Sal Mineo. He had no idea who I was talking about.
