I have appointments with two guys (seperately), off adam4adam.com during my business trip to New Orleans. These are not guys who advertise as escorts. I approached them and they seem to want to meet for a price. I know many of you advise only reviewed professionals and I totally understand that. My question is - where do you think it is best to meet them? My room? A bar? outside the hotel?

Does it really matter? I have had one scary incident in New Orleans and I'm tying to think this out. Thanks for advice.

definitely not in the room. Hotel bar in your hotel or one nearby will give you the chance to see if he matches his description and get a general sense of him. I would make it a point of letting him know, subtly, that you have people around, even if you do not. "I am here with a good friend and his wife and they are in the next room, so do not make me scream too loud." for example.

Very good advice. I always meet this type of guy (Grindr/Manhunt/Scruff finds as well) in the hotel bar, or in the bar of the next hotel over if one is close by, until I sort out whether or not the hook up is going to happen. I've done the "boss" or "friend" in the next room as well, and the "I have a friend I need to call by a certain time...." routine. Good luck.

Another + for meeting in a public place. I would even suggest on that is NOT in the same hotel where you are staying, but maybe a bar nearby where you could easily use the line of a couple in the same place waiting for you in case your "date" does not work out etc... By meeting in the bar or lobby of your hotel, you open yourself (if the initial reaction goes south) to them harassing you or trying to get info from the front desk about you or your room. It is all a question of discretion and safety.
