If you were interested, and found out your escort had a felony conviction/prison time, would your still hire? I am will aware that convictions are a matter of degree. WG2

Depends on the crime. If the guy went to prison for a violent crime and it was relatively recent thing... I probably wouldn't hire. The caveat again is when it happened. If the guy was in his 30s and he did a violent crime and got busted for it in his teens or 20s, I can accept that he made a mistake and learned his lesson.

Well I unknowingly hired a guy here in the US who was wanted on such a charge in Canada. After we had seen each other for a number of times he filled me in on the details. I continued to hire him until he pissed me off one day... He would not release a wrestling hold that caused severe back pain. THAT lack of respect for my limits made me loose any trust that is so necessary in a BDSM relationship and is what made me stop seeing him... I'm not sure what ever happened, but I know that he disappeared for quite a while and then started to advertise in Canada on Rentmen... Someone then said to me..."too bad your not located in Canada. I did hire someone not that long ago who was convicted of a felony and I knew about it. I did give him the benefit of the doubt. My first hire with him was great. I started to feel more comfortable and dropped my guard a bit - and on the second hire he helped himself to the cash contents of my wallet. No I didn't "see" him do it, but hard to have any other suspects when it happens in your hotel room with the door dead bolted and you and he are the only people in the room. I suppose the cash could have spontaneously combusted.

 

In any case- use your best judgment and take precautions. No one to blame but myself!

I was raised to stay away from trouble. If you get in over your head because of your chosen associates it's your own fault. I don't always follow that advice.

 

I trust that some people may have convictions in their pasts that do not reflect their current behavior. Because for some the convictions are a reflection of their nature or repeat behavior it becomes a question of the risk I'm willing to take on. If I knew that an escort had drug-related convictions I would stay away. I have a weakness for bad boys, so I'd probably be dumb enough to play with a guy who hit his wife or girlfriend.

There is an excellent escort who has all wonderful reviews I have hired multiple times. He was actually outed on this forum a few years ago as having committed and being convicted of a violent assault and battery charge about 15 years ago. I asked him about the circumstances of this crime and his explanation assured me I had not misread his good and sweet personality and disposition. I was and am totally convinced that he learned a great life lesson during the period he was in prison and is no longer the man who was convicted of that crime of his early youth.

Having said this I would like to remind everybody that in only two of all the counties of U.S.A. prostitution and the solicitation of prostitution are illegal and all of us escorts and clients one day could go to jail.
