I lived in New England for 20 years but didn't grow up there and haven't lived there for 10 years. Nonetheless, I feel like I was a New Englander before I even moved there and I'll be a New Englander for the rest of my life, no matter where I actually reside. I just put in my order, chock-full of LL Bean logo t-shirts & sweatshirts. Ooh, I feel so New England-patriotic now!

I bought a pair of moccasins at the Freeport, ME, mother store about fifteen years ago, and I have received catalogs from them ever since, even though I have hardly ever bought anything, since, unlike BSR, I don't need most of those comfy New England clothes here in the desert. However, those mocs finally wore out, so a few weeks ago I decided to call their order dept, and they still carry the same ones; they arrived on the day I was promised (no shipping charge), and I am sitting here wearing them at this moment.

The stores in Maine are really quite fun. I bought a rolling duffle bag there that I've been dragging around the globe for years. i expect it will outlast me and my travels. Money well spent I have to say. I like their catalogs but never buy anything because I don't need anything it seems ever.

I am a life long New Englander, and come from a very long line of New Englanders. As I child I remember stopping at LLBean ( in the middle of the night) as we made our way to Northern Maine. At that time they used the first floor to manufacture boots and the store was on the second floor. They are always open, 24/7/365.

I think Palm Springs is a bit warmer than Las Vegas because of its lower elevation. Typical winter temperatures in LV from December through February are 55-60 during the day and 35-40 at night. It's the three months of the year that most resemble fall in New England (without the spectacular foliage, obviously). I live for winter in the desert. I don't even bother to turn the heat on in my condo (it's on the 2nd floor, I get some heat from downstairs) and just get by wrapped up in long-sleeve Ts, sweatshirts, and fleeces, all from LL Bean of course. At night it's probably about 55 degrees inside my condo, but I am blissfully buried under a thick down comforter. So yeah, I'm still a New England guy, even though the climate & geography of Las Vegas and New England couldn't be more different.
