best place to Advertise in NYC

Hi there guys. I come to NYC often, and am actually here right now. I am trying to figure out what is the best place to advertise, besides here?!! How effective are the periodicals, what are the best ones, yada, yada, yada. Thanks for your time. Have a grrrrrrrrrreat day!

NYC is a tough market because there is so much competition and the prices for advertising are high. However, I would suggest a few things for you.

 

1. Rentboy is always a great place to advertise. I think it is especially good for the boys in NYC.

 

2. Next Magazine the gay rag that most escorts in NYC advertise in. I think they have many more ads than their counterpart HX. I think an ad in either one is good but Next seems to be the magazine of choice.

 

3. Some of the lesser known places to advertise often pay off as well. The New York Press is inexpensive but you attract a lot of clients trying to lowball you. The Village Voice seems to do well for some boys and horrible for others. Craigslist.com is a place you can post for free. I have met several boys from there and my reaction has been mixed. But, they all said it brought them in money.

PS. Rentboy has the best selection, guys advertising from out of town and is basically New York-centric.

Since you're in NYC right now, why bother advertising, just go to the bar Stella's on 47th St. between Broadway and 8th Ave... You'll have no problem picking up a client. Also, try the Townhouse bar on 58th St. between 1st and 2nd Ave. or cross the street to O.W... Patrons at these upscale places are in abundance.

Cooper, you are right. I love those places. I have so much fun at Stella's. A lot of boys I know hate going there because they spend too much time waiting for someone who is willing to pay them what they normally ask. I also know many boys that are really very shy and don't feel comfortable there. Some boys today grow up on the internet and with e-mails and cell phones. They get intimidated in places like Stella's.

 

I don't. I love sitting there and watching and waiting for the boy of my dreams to come in. I have found it on more than one occassion there and have met some amazing people there. I do think every escort that comes to NYC should go there if for no other reason to see what it is like. I have been with many guys there who are working boys and they have men simply stare them down and follow them around the bar or to the bathroom. Not me of course.

 

I think we should have a Hooville gathering there one night. I am game.
