I can hardly wait for Saturday.

I almost missed it - didn't know it was in town - but happened by chance to hear an ad for it on the car radio.

So...... I now have two tickets for "NAKED BOYS SINGING"

Don't know if this is a road company or original cast touring. Either way I'll be right there with my tongue hanging out in the 3rd row.

Will I have a good time?

Hmmm haven't even heard of this. Anybody have a web site for this event or additional tour information?

Fuk I would think you'll have a great time, keep us updated.

RE: as you wish

I saw it 2 years ago in New York. It was really fun, some of the songs are quite clever, and while the bods aren't quite the same as the Gaiety, they were in good shape. I think they purposely choose some different body types so there would be someone for almost everyone. Very mixed audience, from bachelorette parties to grandmotherly types to gay men.

I also saw it in New York. I had some time to kill in the Village and walked by the Theatre and they had one ticket left. I'd guess most of it was written by someone in their 40-50's (Hey, I'm in my 40's so please don't think I mean that as a bad thing), who can be a bit on the campy side at times.

I bought the CD on my way out and often play it driving along the streets with the top down and stereo blasting (I do get a few weird looks when "I beat my meat" is playing!

I meant to go again here in Chicago, but never made it.

I have seen it 4 times over the years in NYC. It is a great show with a lot of gay boys. :) And, I have known a few just more than casually over the years as well. :) But, the show is witty and fun. I am sure you will have a blast.

I saw the Houston cast and really liked most of the music. My only minor quibble is that I wish that the first few numbers would have had clothes on and then shown each boy naked individually as their song came up. Then, by intermission, after finally having seen all of them naked, we would be coming back to see what they could top all of that with. What would happen next? The way it's written, though, you see all of them naked during the first number. The nudity, one of the show's main selling points, becomes a bit old hat and blase by intermission and you also realize that, while most of the boys can sing well, many of them are not the best at dancing. (OK, that was the Houston cast, but I think that that will probably be the same with whatever cast you see. Just how much Broadway style dancing can you do without a supporter of any kind and with mostly cabaret style music?) Overall though, I think you'll have a blast!!

Well Frankly - IT WAS THE SHITS

Let me tell you - I was one very pissed off fagot!

Our tickets were for the Sat afternoon matinee. We had been staying at the lake with two of our friends who were visiting from Montreal. The lake in question is about 80 miles from Vancouver. So around 11:00 Sat morning we piled into the wagon and headed to Vancouver in time to grab a quick quiche before the show. The traffic was a bitch -good weekend weather brings out the unwashed hoards - found a place to park (mucho $$) had a bite and a glass of wine and headed towards the theatre....... only to find it in darkness and a sign posted on the box-office window "TODAY'S MATINEE PERFORMANCE IS CANCELLED. YOU MAY OBTAIN A REFUND OR ALTERNATE TICKETS AT ANY TICKERMASTER OFFICE"

Fuck this - how unprofessional can you get. A 160 mile round trip for nothing. Two dissapointed guests. Four pissed of fags. If I'd had a bomb the theatre would have been a pile of dust.

Will I get alternate tickets? Who knows. Our friends will be gone by Monday so there is no chance for them to see it and I am so disguted that I don't think I feel like giving them any money even if they all did free lap dances - which of course ain't going to happen.

Wouldn't you be pissed off too?

Please don't let your disappointment, cloud your reasoning. I have had the same thing happen to me before, and I bet most people have also. Sometimes shit happens beyond the control of both the performers and the theatre, so what can they reasonably do except offer a full refund/alternate showing??? Yeah I know a real bummer, as it always is, but in my cases I've always gone to the alternate showing which is never full house, so the performers appreciate those who show up, and thus give an extra effort. Go to the alternate showing, if possible with other friends, or get a refund of the other tickets. :)

I probably would have been less agitated if we had been staying in town instead of at the cottage. A 160 mile round trip drive in weekend traffic is not my idea of fun.

I strongly suspect that the matinee was cancelled due to lack of enough ticket sales. And that I consider to be very unprofessional. They should play if even to a smaller audience. What ever happened to "the show must go on"?
