I was reading yesterday where there is allegedly "Bambi Hunts" in the deserts surrounding Las Vegas set up by a commercial enterprise presenting high rollers the "opportunity" to hunt and shoot naked woman with a paint-ball gun--supposedly at $10k a session.

There is also speculation that it may be just hype to promote a new video game, but if it were for real, does anyone find this offensive?

And what if it were hunting hot twinks or hot hairy bear cubs? Would that change your mind either way? Anyone here be interested in either being the hunter or the hunted?

And one more twist--what if it were advertised for straight men to hunt gay bois? }(

Just some random thoughts on a TOO-HOT-TO-DO-ANYTHING Sunday afternoon.:+

I am not offended as much as I am incredulous. I don't see the attraction at all--for either party (paintball hits can be painful). It seems vulgar and mean-spirited besides being a ridiculous waste of money, and I can’t imagine participating either as hunter or hunted in any conceivable variation.

…and they say gay people are perverted.

FYI, Here's a link to the item on CNN.com:

Well what are those str8 boys going to think up next? I guess it is okay if everyone's willing, so I don't see anything offensive or perverted about it? :) To each his own fantasies.

Doesn't seem too safe or healthy though, for people to be running around in the desert naked. Get's kind of hot out there this time of the year doesn't it? Not to mention, cactus, scorpions and snakes.

Why aren't they filming this for tv? It should fit in real well with all the other so called reality "trash" that is on these days.

Well, as long as everyone was consenting, I don't think I'd have a problem with it. But, in the case of straight men hunting gay bois, I'd require the gay boys to prove to me they were really gay. (Wouldn't do that for the straight men because I don't really care to see their proof.)

Would I ever hunt a hot twink? Only if it was treated like a "real" hunt and I could take the meat home with me for later consumption. :9

Well - I don't know how much they charge the shooters but I've heard that the women get paid as follows.

$2500 if they manage to avoid being hit,

$1000 if they do get hit.

Either way, most of the ladies think it's easy money!

RE: All fun and games...

...until somebody looses an eye! Saw a typical sensationalistic *2 part* newscast on this (nothing else important going on I guess... ahem) the girls only get to wear tennis shoes. No face masks, goggles or the like.

Those that've played paintball have an idea how dangerous that could be. Plus I think they use red paintballs (often not allowed at paintball places) and the girls play dead after being hit...

The newsploytation broadcast tried to turn it in the same direction they turn almost everything, that this could attract/create psychopaths. Given the above two notes, maybe they are correct for once, but maybe it is close enough to keep them from doing it for real. I think you're probably pretty near the edge if you're spending 10K to do this in the first place.

Looks like they took the video down, and it is now a FOUR PART STORY!

This is far more important then why, exactly, we just went to war and are continuing to spend billions to occupy Iraq!! Thank god for the news!!!

So the 'moral majority' will get in a tizzy about Bambi hunts though it is far too late to do anything about it. Saw an ad for someone trying to set one up on Craigslist LA.

The 10K amount is also something you should have heard as it was on the web, on several broadcast and in the one news print article I read about this. That means, the women make either 10% (as a top limit) or an apparent 25% (also likely a top limit) of what one hunter may pay, the people who put on these "bambi hunts" are the ones who are making far easier money. After all, how much can paint cost?

Several reports made local news/papers here in Arizona. So, being the methodical sort I am, I did a bit of research. This all seems like a big fraud or hoax.

For starters, the promoters charge $10K to participate. After two weeks, no one has responded to any of my e-mails seeking to go on a hunt. For a $10K fee, you'd think the promoters would be all over you to get your money, or at least an up front deposit to guarantee you a space.

Second, the web site promoting the "hunts" doesn't make it easy to sign up. Had to do a bit of digging to obtain contact info.

Third, the phone numbers associated with the people do not mention the hunts or any information beyond "leave a message". In addition to the e-mails, I tracked down multiple phone numbers, left messages and no one has called me back.

Interestingly, when I had a friend from a local paper call, at the same number, his call got a response in mere minutes.

So, calls from prospects wanting to spend $10K are not returned, calls from genuine media are. This sounds like a hoax to me. Perhaps a cruel, weird sort of hoax, but a hoax nonetheless. The hoax angle made the papers here, and a couple of wire services carried it, but the hoax angle hasn't gotten a lot of attention. You have to wonder why someone would want to do this particular hoax though?

Can you tell I'm bored lately...

Hummmm, sounds like a hoax to me, too. I wouldn't be up for being a "Bambi" in the "hunt" unless all of the "hunters" were naked too and I had my own gun (and head and eye protection, of course). Then it would be a much more even battle. }( Paintballs leave one hell of a nasty bruise when hit on bare skin. No way would I let someone just shoot me with out being able to shoot back.
