Isn't this too explicit for an underwear ad?

In a word...no. I loved it. It all depends on personal taste of course, but I have always thought that as Americans we are just a wee bit more prudish than our European neighbors, and amigos to the south of us. Having traveled much of the world of the course of my life, and observing the attitudes of many across "the pond" something like this just doesn't bother me. I do know that AC gets some push back from the gay community who think that he is nothing more than a cheesy, fly-by-night designer who will not be here for long, but I think that his ads and videos are innocent fun stuff. These vids are not exactly played on prime time, so it is very simple, if people don't like it, they can simply avoid watching and purchasing his products. I for one applaud the fact that he plays to the gay community and teases us with those sexual fantasies that many talk about and watch behind closed doors, but then in the light of day, openly voice their disgust.

I'm not saying that you feel this way BC, but rather these are comments I have heard from members here, friends of mine, and observations I have made from many in WEHO where he has a store.

I don't know where Andrew Christian "ads" air. They certainly aren't shown on television in the U.S., and they are too long to be ads anyway. I've always thought of them as being just shy of soft core porn, aimed at gay men, in order to build a loyal customer base. Nothing wrong with that since it seems like you have to go out of your way to even see AC ads anyway.

Wow. On all levels.

They're not leaving much to the imagination, that's for sure.

AGREED! All depends on the targeted audience. If only marketed to gays-- it's superb and enticing.

Yeah, Andrew Christian is aimed at a certain market. Strippers, dancers, club-goers, beach boys, guys who have nice bods.

However, I like their clothes and underwear styles...the material on some of the shirts wasn't as good as I hoped it'd be. You wear and wash a few times and it's lost it's shape. I'll still buy more because I like their originality...but it's not going to hold up as well as a Guess or Express outfit.

BigValBoy,

Excellent, transnational insights!

I was trying to be funny, actually, and as

usual--failed.

This arises from the Emoticon Avoidance Syndrome.

AndrewChristian knows exactly where their Market is and how to Sell It! As does "Undergear" with their Print Catalogs for Year's.

The very Humorous side of course are the guys of a "certain" age ...who actually think they will look as Hunky as the Models who Sell these Styles! ;) For most of them that "Ship has Sailed"!

Not explicit enough. I say, show them in the buff with a tagline like, "Use your imagination" or "Who said guys were sexier with their clothes on?"

That way it doesn't matter if you use cheap material or favor style over substance. :)

Well when you reach my age, sometimes deja vu is all you have and thank god for AC ad's, keeps my eyes bulging..

May that not be the only anatomical part bulging for us all...

I did a click on the Pet Food Site today and was surprised to see Andrew Christian underwear as the sponser of the day. The sponser pays by the number of clicks on the site and the money is intended to be donated to a pet food donation charity. Was surprised and delighted to see AC underwear there and if I had a physique that would allow me to wear their product without cutting off circulation to the lower part of my body I would go out and buy some.

Undergear Print Models

PK ..This is definitely another reason to like AC besides their choice in who Models their Undies!

But I do like the Undergear Policy of showing Underwear Styles in Print that lately are showing whether the MODEL is Cut or Uncut! :p
