These "politically inappropriate" ads are more common than you think. It's usually more of a naïve southern pride thing than a political movement or statement.

BTW if someone has first hand experience with Doug from LA, I would still like to hear about it.

There was already a thread about him in this forum, but not much information yet.

Would you like to restart his thread and see if someone already met him? I don't want to do it because it might look redundant.

Maybe he hopes the flag will bring him business... but it certainly turns a lot of potential customers away too.. IMHO...

Certainly, he could call himself all-American, Southern boy, or country with a picture of him on top of a tractor, with a barn behind him, a straw in his mouth... I have a filthy imagination!

But a confederate flag?

Yeah, southern code for being a proud racist.

While I would never display the flag myself, I have known people who did, as a Southern pride/heritage symbol, and who were NOT racist.

The tricky thing about symbols is that they don't always mean the same thing to EVERYONE.

Apparently nine states observe Confederate Memorial Day: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

I'm not aware of any states that observe or have a Union Memorial Day. Some people are so insensitive a good ass kicking every day wouldn't be enough justice for them.

Any escort that displays that flag in their ad has spent too much time living under a rock and/or suffers from a low IQ.

As the OP, may bring something else to this conversation:

This guy obviously looks more like an average client... I hope he warns escorts about his size...

It was our high school flag in Michigan in the 70's. Our mascot was "The Rebel". I still have one laying around, i picked it up to put on my car antenna when picking up a high school friend from the airport that I hadn't seen in decades. It raises some eyebrows when other friends see it.

I recently read The Fall Of The House Of Dixie. Amazing how much I learned about politics in the secessionist states just before, during and after the war. The evil slave owners really did screw the non-owning white citizenry by starting this war (and Lincoln truly made sure the South fired the first shot so there would be no doubt who initiated the war). I knew this before but its an interesting and horrifying statistic that over 625,000 Americans died during the Civil War (Union & Confederate); more than any other war we've been involved in. I like reading about history and will check out some of the other referrals above.

in fact, more than all other wars we've been in combined.....exceedingly sad.....equivalent to 6-7 million citizens being killed today, population percentage-wise.....

People do crazy shit when there's lots of money at stake.

Hmmm. . .an observation on "escorting" or the "War Between the States"? Ah, me! I have suffered under the delusion that the thing was about principle, states' rights in particular. . .

True. Our public education system dumbed down the complex issues leading to secession and the Civil War. In middle school we were taught that this period of history was all about slavery. For better or worse this curriculum overlapped with an English program slanted toward books such as "Sounder", in a heavy-handed attempt to teach social awareness and diversity. So many people come out of public school thinking that the Confederacy was all about racism and slavery.

And then there are the escorts who openly discriminate against anyone who isn't white. A few of those and some well known who practice that.

Bigotry wrapped in a flimsy shell of 'pride' is still bigotry
