I have received a couple of inquiries on Decadence and here is some information:

Most of the action is on Bourbon Street in the area past St. Ann Street. This is 8 or so blocks from Canal Street, which is the main downtown street in NO. There are 2 bars across Bourbon from one another. They are the Bourbon Pub and Oz. Both will be full of people as will the section of Bourbon Street between them. There will be dancers on the bars at both with varing degrees of nakedness. One block down the street will be Cafe Lafite in Exile. The oldest Gay bar in NO. Dancers here also. Across is the Clover Grill which is owned by the Lafitte's owners. Serves faily good chow. Many better restaurants in NO. Dumaine is the cross street at Lafites. If you go one blocks on that street away from the river you will get to a bar on the left corner named Good Friends. Here you will find more dancers. Don't miss the upstairs at either of the bars. One block further on Dumaine (left side) and you will be at Rawhide. A fairly decadent place with sex in the back part. Do not be alarmed. It is all in good fun (ha!). All of these streets will be full of people in varying degrees of sobriety and dress. Many will be available for pick up.

Looking for young hustlers dancing on the bar and available. Don't miss the Corner Pocket at 940 St Louis. Also in the French Quarter.

The scummiest bar where you're sure to find a dick to suck or to get sucked is the Phoenix at 941 Elysian Fields Avenue. Do not walk to the place. Take a taxi. If you don't, you could get hurt.

There are many other Gay bars in New Orleans but I'm not writing a full guide.

x( A final note of caution: A New law has been passed prohibiting sex in the streets. I believe this could spell trouble all around. This is due to a preacher who, along with some other holy-roller bitch, has been raising hell about Decadence activities. Be cautious! This could all mean trouble.

But, Let the Good Times Roll.

Thanks for all the useful information. It was most generous of you. A couple of questions; at what time is Rawhide and/or the Phoenix the busiest? Also, are all of these walking distance from the Monteleone?? (Not the Phoenix - as you advised, but all the others.)

Again, thanks for your "southern hospitality".

For people watching, anytime after 10 p.m. and before 2 a.m. For sex, similar and up to 4 a.m. To actual get real action and SEE whom you are having it with, I suggest 3 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Pheonix is different, a good place to misplace or lose valuables, darker, harder to see. Good for people watching but I would not vote to go there for sex.

Frankly, while it may not get the Benjamin Nicholas seal of approval, the traveling porn stars who dance at the Bourbon Pub, et al., often head to the bathhouse off Canal Street. Personally, I intend to get my blow jobs on the balconies, like the good lord intended, but always happy to chime in.

All the recommendations are right on the money<G>

Also remember:

Heat/Humidity--it will kill you as soon as you step outside.Combine those with garbage from all the restaurants and it's a moustache burner!

Service--No one moves too fast

Cops--talked to a bartender a few weeks ago & local police plan to be back out by the Wyndham watching the action on the corner of Bourbon/St. Ann

Gay Haters--they'll be over on Royal near

the police station with HUGE SIGNS & bullhorns out to save your soul! I saw some pretty intense debate last year.

Crescent City Pub on Decatur--home to one of the cutest guys in NO...dark haired, quiet, military guy who buses tables:0)

RedFish Grille--my favorite restaurant--Double Chocolate Bread Pudding is a knockout!
