I only watched the Tony Awards because of him. Not that I watched all of it -- I admit to fast forwarding some speeches and some numbers from shows that didn't interest me.

Wow. There actually IS something over which you don't seethe with hatred.

Quite a bit, but that would require the ability to read and comprehend and not see only what one wants to see :)

Actually, since you ask, I can't bear him. I find him rather smug and pleased with himself, and find his jokes very contrived. he doesn't strike me as someone who is remotely humorous without his scriptwriters. Nothing personal, but you did ask.........lol

I think a lot of people like him simply because he is gay and out, which is commendable I suppose, but not enough for me. Am curious-can he be funny and witty without a script? (That's a genuine question, not a snipe!)

Well speaking for myself of course, I loved him long before I knew he was gay. Always thought he was sexy as hell...Maybe I liked that smugness or air of confidence. I think he would be intense in bed...;)

I think he is fantastic, smart, funny, and cute, has a cute BF and has handled his journey from child actor to adult actor about as well as in Hollywood. He has done it being honest about himself!

I wonder how many of us are actually funny and witty on our own. I find it much easier to achieve with a script :)

Seems to be so in interviews. Seems like a charming, witty guy. (Unlike some actors who reinforce why they're given scripts in the first place.)

He's been on stage most of his life. He's also a fairly accomplished magician so he's accustomed to working an audience. Sometimes he amps that up and comes off a little like a lounge-lizard. Perhaps that's what you're reacting to?

Possibly, you might have nailed it! However I am totally cool that you all love him, was just responding to the question, but seems I am completely alone in this view! I can live with it! lol

You are not alone and I'll leave it at that---don't feel that I have to explain personal preferences.

I do not find NPH physically attractive in the least.

But he is, in my view, a very hard-working and moderately talented entertainer. That puts him in the top 10% of television stars. And his work ethic makes him well-suited to host shows like the Tony Awards.

I didn't care for him as Doodie Howser and not being into "Broadway Dancer" Types don't care for him now.

Amazing that CBS Show is still running? But like Liberace they "Love Him at the Bank"!

I'll add to the "minority" I do not find him attractive.

Well, I can't say he's a 10 (or a 9, or maybe even an 8) by any means. I'd say he's a good 7.5. But I like his style, and he could ride this Unicorn anytime!

Ah, if we could all have Bruce Valanch in our back pocket, always! (And the pant manufacturers would like it too!) (Bruce said that, not me!?)
