This thread reminds me of the review I wrote on behalf of Romann back in 2010 where I compared him to Sears and the Sears catalog.

I guess we were ahead of the curve by a few years!!

I know, I know. You are right about that...but imagine how popular it could be if it became the first All-Nude, Gay Weho Wal-Mart..and all the front-end cashiers were porn studs and strippers from Micky's. Yes, it's a stretch, but what if?:p

What if? It would be packed day and night....Especially if some of those hot, sexy, little Latino dancing boys from Micky's were there to help you find things.....of course they would put 'Pavilions' out of business, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

lol...no self respecting West Hollywood queen would ever be caught dead in a Wal-Mart. Certainly not in broad daylight, and certainly not without a disguise.

Perhaps the greeter could hand out masks (or hoods) to those who wanted to protect their reputations. Of course that might dial up the kink factor a bit!

You're absolutely right. I guess I haven't seen one of the "old model" stores in a long time. I thought they had all been replaced but I guess they're doing that slowly (or not at all).

Not every store can be converted. Most places where they'd like to convert, it means abandoning existing buildings and putting up something new. Zoning and local sentiment often work against them. It seems like there's always some community in SoCal fighting against building a new WalMart.

Here, for example, they were an anchor tenant in a new shopping area 15-20 years ago. NOBODY wants to see that building stand empty, and since then new businesses like a Costco warehouse and a Target that's double WalMart's size went in across the road. And I still rarely see fewer than three people standing in line at each open register no matter what time of day or night I go there. Go figure.
