Do you ever wonder about the guys who post here and then disappear? Like RushNY for example. I mean, is he ok, or what? Even our good friend traveller hasn't posted for a long time. And nice little taylor from Kentucky. Who else is missing here? Does anyone know why?Hooville just isn't the same without some of these guys...

I don't know about the others but there have been periods of whole months in a row when I wouldn't post here at all. Usually I try to at least check in but life is sometimes just too busy to do much more. And sometimes, as Will has said before, there's nothing going on here that I want to contribute to.

 

I suspect the others are fine and just busy and having fun. They'll probably turn up sooner or later.

I think RushNY indicated he had come into a considerable inheritance which made him a man of independant means. He also had a new lover. Presumably one's life changes immeasurably with these changes in circumstances. If I had millions I don't know if I'd hang around here or not!

I think that there is a rush of excitement when guys first discover this site, because it means they can talk about things that they have never previously had an outlet for (at least, that's what happened to me). After awhile, however, one gets talked out. How many times can one re-tell certain experiences, ask or answer certain questions, discuss certain themes, etc.? I used to read almost every topic, but now I skim them quickly and sometimes need only five minutes a day to see everything I want, and I post far less often than I did a couple of years ago. The regulars you mentioned may have simply moved on to other things, or become more casual visitors. I would not ascribe that to any underlying problem with the site itself.

hiya lucky......no special reason (my opinion) people cut back on visits, other than we just do.i guess it's a cyclic thing.it also (the m.c.)loses it's taboo status after a while..........along the line of "what ya always wanted to know about hookers,but didn't know who to ask and now ya do".after awhile you also find that most of the guys, both buyers and sellers are pretty cool,and not at all what one thinks they would be.anyway thats my take on it ...........taylor@15:09-05/30/03

Interesting relationships can be made here. I have met several good guys from the MC. Tonight I was at the Gaiety where a stranger started to chat me up during the porn movie. I agree, you can meet some great people through this MC. As to your question about where do people disappear to, the answers are as varied as the people. People use this MC for different reasons despite it's stated intention of being for and about escorts. I have used it for a number of things: Therapy (some have pointed out that it becomes tiresome after a while and I agree. But as I have taken a few more steps in the coming out process, I have needed the theraputic aspects less and less to the relief of many I'm sure)

Making new friends has been a real benefit to me.

Meeting guys in cities I where I have travelled has been one of the best parts of this MC for me.

 

But as time goes on, I find that life is more comfortable, and I can deal with reality better, so even though I check in, I don't always respond.

I think the same may be true for many. There is also the aspect of guys who have alot of disposable income and can travel often. I don't own a laptop, but did rent one for a few weeks while I was in FLorida. But other than my trip to NYC where I wanted to document the places I saw and people I met, I don't often post when I am out of town.

Anyway, that's my $$$'s worth.

I used to come here everyday, first thing in the morning, make a pot of coffee, answer my email and spend an hour or so on the message center. Why did I stop?

A variety of reasons.

1) time constraints

2) travelling a lot

3) a lot of negativity

4) same subjects repeated over an over.

 

#4 In the beginning when the site was still fairly new, there were a lot of questions that had never been asked, here was a place where clients could ask anything they ever wanted to know about escorts. I felt happy to share what little insight I had.

But over time, and with new users coming all the time, a lot of the same questions/subject matter, would reappear. Nothing wrong with that, though I didn't feel the same urge to respond and therfore repeat myself.

 

I still check in on a semi regular basis, to check things out, see if there are any new and interesting topics, and on occasion, I post. But now that I know noone even noticed I was gone.... fuck if I'll ever be back: )
