Guys I will nominate SOUTHWEST FLORIDA for this distinction. AS much as I love it here because it is absolute drop dead gorgeous paradise when April the 15th rolls around ALL the money flies north and northwest for the late spring through the summer until after the holidays. The only locals left are service industry people who are broke and retirees who are well....broke. I know there are other areas like this so let us hear where they are and if u r there. The EXTREME seasonal nature of Florida demands that the MIKEY SHOW hit the road for the next 7 months so hpefully I will come to a city where you live or near you. As a newly single guy I am looking forward to meeting many of you and seeing the country again. http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

Palm Springs is seasonal, too. After the White Party and the Dinah Shore in March/April, things clear out pretty quickly, as all the cars with Washington/Oregon/British Columbia/Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba/Minnesota, etc. plates disappear from the parking lots, and the locals move back inside and turn on the a/c for the next five months. Suddenly one can get into any restaurant one wants, except for the ones that close for the summer. I love the peaceful summer season here, at least until August, when the heat starts to get pretty old. Then I like to get away to somplace with its own special season, like the Pacific Northwest.

At one time, the beach towns of South Carolina were extremely seasonal (in the opposite way of Southwest Florida). In winter, our beach towns used to be pretty much ghost towns.

And while it's still true that the summer population swells, not nearly to the same degree.

The DC area is fairly seasonal. The tourists pack the place in July and August.

Very true. And the locals clear out from August to Labor Day when Congress is in recess. One can actually find street parking downtown.
