Scents I Have Known

A few people have mentioned a certain scent in red haired people. I dont think I've ever had the pleasure of that scent. But I thought I'd add my 2 cents in. There are actually lots of scents I like- ranging from just a clean no scent to a dusting of Axe Body Spray. But a scent I particularly like is some kind of mixture of a very light chlorine mixed with just a bit of sun tan oil and maybe just a hint of sweat ( and I'm not talking anything greasy). It always puts me in mind of a day at the pool. And it's funny because I'm not a pool or beach aficionado, but I like the smell.

But as regarding Axe- as we often say around here- De gustibus non est disputandum meaning "In matters of taste, there can be no disputes" in case someone has been puzzled all along regarding the meaning of this phrase.

 

I have to admit a bit of past history here- my father used to 'bathe' in after shave- not really but you might have thought it. His favorite brand was Aramis. The few times someone bought him cologne, my mother had to explain to him it was much stronger than after shave and not to use so much. I used to hate how much he put on. And personally I almost never use after shave- the smell really irritates my nose- and I cant stand the way the smell lingers on my hands even after washing them. I don't however mind a light spritz of a body spray before meeting an escort- but only very light- and I'm not fond of very strong bitter scents at all.

Mostly because of my extremely good sense of smell, I use so little cologne that one bottle would last me 50 years. But when I do feel the urge, I'll pump a single mist of whatever I happen to have on hand in front me and then walk through the resulting cloud. That's enough to leave enough scent on me that others notice it without being overpowered by it but not so much that I can't stand it for at least a couple of hours.

 

Seriously though, I can identify who's been in the room before me solely by the odor they've left behind. It's a skill that is both a curse and blessing.

I'm one of those guys that really finds the scent of sweat intoxicating. Maybe there is truth to human pheromones after all, lol. Particularly armpit sweat - drives me totally crazy. Ironically, I'm not so turned on by crotch scents - down there i prefer my men to be very clean. But give me a pair of ripe armpits to enjoy, and I'm in heaven. Who knows why, but it's so.

 

A little dab of cologne can be alluring as well, but I agree that guys who overdo it are a turnoff. I have a colleague who loves to hug when he greets people - the problem is he also wears heavy amounts of aftershave or cologne - and it's the kind of thing where his scent rubs off on me when he hugs me, and then I have to deal with smelling that scent until it wears off. But of course, how do you break it to someone that you don't want to be affectionate with them because of their choice of cologne?

 

And, as one of the guys who brought up the unique scent that gingers seem to have - yeah, I totally crave that scent. ;-)

Now cum is an interesting subject in itself. While I obviously like to cum, and I like to watch my partners cum- after that I have no real use for it at all. It's sticky and makes a mess. Maybe if I hadn't grown up in the era of AIDS-I was 19 in 1980. But cum as a carrier of HIV just has never been appealing to me- probably the main reason that giving oral while I'll do it- is not my favorite thing to do.

As a person who spends some time in organizations that revolve around singing, it is a constant battle to remind people not to put on colognes or after shaves because many people are actually allergic to this stuff. Men should smell like people, not like roses or freshly baked apple pies or citrus trees in bloom. No added smell is a good smell. Not necessarily bad, just not necessary. A hot guy is a hot guy because of how he looks and presents himself - has nothing to do with his scent (IMHO) unless it's bad B.O.

Just like with everything else--this is a matter of opinion. While I don't like guys drenched in the stuff--I certainly don't mind a whiff of certain scents. And in many cases it may heighten the experience--especially maybe if it's someone I've seen frequently. The scent memory can trigger memories of previous times--heightening the sensation--just as in the same way the smell of an apple pie or pot roast may recall happy times at home.

 

People are so dogmatic on here--and I'll admit that I am not totally immune to this myself. And this is a pretty innocuous subject too.

As a semi-ginger (nose to pubes) I have that ginger smell (and it IS true of all the ones I know who go natural). As mentioned in another thread, I have a friend who greets me not by hugs, but by burying his face in my armpit!

I second that. In high school I played tennis as well as swam, and one day we'd climbed onto the school roof to retrieve tennis balls. I went over by the pool area and the A/C system was blowing out a strong scent of chlorine - took me right back to the pool in my head.

 

Of two of my favorite dancers at the Gold Coast, one has a very subtle and good natural scent. It's never strong, and I'm sure it's not cologne; it's just him. The other always has a faint whiff of green tea about him, which just drives me wild.

 

There's another who has a faint whiff of sulfur. I've noticed that same smell on a couple other people who I know are on bipolar meds.

This is interesting. While I haven't smelled it in awhile- every once in awhile, I pick up an odor on an escorts breath. The best way I can describe it is back in Organic Chemistry in college they told us that nitrogenous compounds had foul smells- like something rotting- or possibly being preserved- like in formaldehyde. The odor I've smelled in their breath was kind of like a cross between the brine olives are packed in going bad- with maybe a hint of a fruity odor to it. As I said I've only smelled it occasionally, but I've smelled it on multiple escorts. I've always wondered if it might be the residual of poppers or possibly some medication in common like an anti-HIV drug.

With respect to the dancer I mentioned, I can believe it's something for anti-depressants or mood stabilizers. He's usually a great sweet guy, but some days he's very withdrawn & keeps to himself, which can't bode well for his prospects of making money that night. I've first noticed the smell on other friends or family members that I know are on prescriptions for that.
