it is funny you should post this because i was checking a profile and that person had both JosephGa and ivanakissandhugg as friends and i checked on both to see that neither had posted this year. i then returned to the forum to see this post about JosephGa being MIA if you are lurking out there guys come back and say a quick hello, stay for tea or drop a load.

I just looked and he hasn't posted since the end of December. I hope he is ok.

JosephGa is alive and well. He is living safely and happily elsewhere in cyber-space. I will send your regards Gman...or possibly you could contact him via email that might still be linked from this site...

Joseph had left the message board (as far as posting). Then he came back, posted a comment, and a member made fun of his posting. I remembered Joseph then commented goodbye and I have not seen him since. I did call out the member. I don’t know why people have to be so catty thinking they are funny. Joseph added a lot of good info especially in the SPA section.

Unfortunately not all members can or want to deal with the catty comments...

Just an FYI: He had knee surgery a few weeks ago and is recovering pretty well. As Atlantagaguy said though, he'd had enough of people who don't play well with others.

I logged onto this site for years as a lurker. I would read with amazement how some folks treated one another at times. (Yes, it's always just a few that are negative or abusive, but "one bad apple" really can ruin it for others.) As a new member, I have tried to get the courage up to make a comment here and there. Last thing I want is to get in the middle of intercontinental mud slinging. But sadly I've discovered how easy it is to be catty or negative. I can slide into that mode as easily as the next guy. Something about the anonymity that makes me lose my manners. So far be it from me to criticize anyone for being rude or snide.

Cyberspace is perfect for venting; there are few consequences for saying things that in public society might get one shunned, ignored, or locked up. I'm not sure if I'm gonna last here. I hope I have the discipline and good sense to keep out of the sniping. My goal is to make some new friends and find folks with whom I can process these feelings and experiences that are unique to clients who hire male escorts.

If it's any comfort (and it's probably not), it's not just this board or this topic. I work as a web programmer and use technical discussion boards a lot. The snarkiness there always amazes me. Beginners posting a question that's elementary to others are derided for not knowing it, or not knowing the best way to find the answer before they post a question. Granted, I often feel the same way about some of the questions, but it wasn't that long ago that I was new at this and didn't even know how to frame the question, much less find the answer, and that's always in my mind when I post a response.

Oh- I must have missed his farewell post. Thanks. And not that I really care, but Maxwellissmart has not graced our presence this year- at least not under that 'nom de alias'.

Without looking at any history, I can assure you that he checked in a few days ago.

His last message in December wished us all a Happy New Year, but he posted again recently. I hope he's recovering well from the surgery.

Well wishes, Joseph!

Lasting here is up to each person. The easiest thing to do is just ignore those that irritate you and just move on to another post. Responding will often bring out an endless barrage of catty comments. I think the best thing to do is just enjoy the board for what it is and was meant to do, and don't take any of this too seriously. Few of us rarely agree on any subject, but that is the beauty and the fun of the forum. When all is said and done, there is valuable information here, free for the taking. Members have saved me from some potentially disastrous hires, so there is benefit in that.

And....there are some incredible members here, some of which I now consider among my dearest friends. I had lunch with Diverdan the other day as he came in to FTL for a brief stay. He is charming, intelligent and a very sweet man. I look forward to seeing him again in the future. We had some good laughs poolside on a beautiful South Florida afternoon.

The benefits of the forum far out way the negatives. So welcome, and I do hope that you decide to stick around.
