This may have been discussed here before, and if so, someone can please guide me to the proper thread and I can read the reviews, but if not, has anyone seen this movie? If so, what did you think? I haven't seen it yet, and was wondering about it (it was offered for sale later this month in a catalogue and I was considering purchasing it - but wanted to get a little info first).

"The Fluffer" is up next in my queue at Netflix. Should ship today. In the next couple days, I'll be happy to give you my thoughts and opinions. One of my friends claimed not to know what a fluffer is, so I decided to go for the movie. Maybe he'll want to practice after seeing the film...

I had a chance to see the movie last year at the Real Afirmations Gay Film Festival here in DC. While it certainly isn't an Oscar winning performance, it has its charm. If you like big, beefy muscle guys who don't really seem to have much going on between the ears, but have a lot of sex appeal, then you probably won't care that the acting isn't so great or that the plot isn't the best in the world. The "fluffer" in the movie is a cute twink boy, but unfortunately, we never get to see any sex scenes with him in them.

Actually, we only get to see the illusion of sex scenes in the whole movie. I don't remember seeing any real dick shots, and certainly not any x-rated stuff at all. So, if you are looking for an actual porno or a movie with a real good story, this one isn't it. But, it also can be very intertaining if you aren't expecting too much and are interested in the whole porn industry genre. If I were rating gay movies I have seen, I would give "Beautiful Thing" and "Trick" two thumbs up, while I would "The Fluffer" only one.

Gee, maybe I should become a film critic! :9

Rental - don't buy. Hunky "porn" star plays the dual lead with the Fluffer who is cute. Sex scenes if you can call them that are meant to tease as you see the Fluffer disappear below camera angle 2-3 times during film to Fluff. I don't even recall a good butt shot from anyone.....

Amuzing, some eye candy, average indy film.....rent don't buy

Fine. The script and the acting aren't all that great. But why carp when you get to see lots of this guy (fucked up as his character is)?

I pretty much agree with what Aaron Scott had to say. It's OK for what it is, but Wash West has done much better work making real porn.

West actually took some heat from the porn industry because he refused to let established porn "stars" audition for any of the major roles. Yet he sure used a couple of established "names" as extras and used plenty of candid footage from porn events such as Chi Chi LaRue's birthday bash.

The real fun of seeing this was the company I was with. I was sitting between two guys who've actually done porn. The tittering, giggling, and outright belly laughs (and accompanying explanations) made the movie an absolute laugh riot. If you have a couple of porn stars handy, by all means buy it and give it a watch with them. Otherwise, it's pretty much a rental.

That said, the version that's about to become available is the non-rated version that was not released to theaters. I have no idea what's actually in it (or not).

I saw this on cable about a month ago. I believe IFC maybe Sundance. The film was quite boring. If you must see it I suggest as others have to rent it, not buy it.

I have been a member of Netflix for over 2 months love the great service unliminted rentals up to 3 at a time for 19.95. They have fixed on bad disc very quick service. They have gay and lesbian themed DVD's but not Gay porn. Hope this helps. It works for me. I don't have to run out and get them th come in mail with mailer included if I want it one or 10 days doesnt matter but I dont get a new one of 3 until I return that one. HUGS Chuck:9

RE: Movie: Fluffer

I've been a member of Netflix for almost a year now. Overall I've been quite satisfied - I liked it so much I bought 100 shares in the company (the stock doubled in value - wish I'd bought more). Often I've received my next film 2 days after dropping the DVD in the mailbox. As Chuck pointed out, no XXX. But they do have many gay-themed films, although a handful ("Circuit," "Borstal Boy," "Red Dirt") have been in "Very Long Wait" for several months and I doubt I will ever get them.

You probably will your money's worth out of Netflix if you watch 5 or more videos a month. You should also know that although the default membership is 3 videos at a time for $19.95 (plus tax), after the first month you can switch over to different priced plans. I switched to the 2 DVDs at a time plan for $13.95 (plus tax) a month.

There are a few other Netflix-like companies out there. http://www.numberslate.com/ seems to have a great selection of DVDs as well and their plan runs at $13.95 for 3 videos at a time. The advantage of Netflix is that it has a massive distribution system which cuts down on the waiting time for delivery and the greater likelihood that the titles you want are in stock. I may do a trial run with them as well (after I get back from Thailand). I guess if any of these companies go under, you get to keep the DVDs you have in hand.
