An Invitation from Jackhammer

I was talking with jackhammer91406 last night and we thought this may be a good way to reach his friends here in the message center.

 

Jackhammer has a large beachfront condo in St. Augustine, FL the week of May 16th through the 22nd. If anyone here would be interested in coming down and visiting you can reach jack through his profile here on the message center or mine and I will pass it on.

 

He tells me it's a great place on the beach and of course the weather is great this time of year. Not too hot yet. And for you golf fanatics there are many great courses nearby. Plus some interesting sightseeing in the area.

I can't let this one go. I do not know Jack personally except by proxy. He has struck me as a person who is basically a very nice man. Axebahia knows that Jack has, in the past, had depression problems and that Jack has signed off the board for the most part. Jack offers to share a condo in St Augustine with people who would like to have a vacation in that area in that period of time. Axebahia, being the kind and considerate person he is , is happy to make comments on the meds and the disease and the treatment that Jack has been going through and makes fun of him for that. That, to me, is so far beyond despicable that it is ludicrous. If Axebahia were dying of thirst and I had the only water in the area, I would tell him to go to hell.

A word of advice:

 

First you leave the board with much drama and tears cause you have been soooo midunderstood - or whatever! Never to rear your head again.

 

Then you decide that the head should really be reared after all - OK -your privilege.

 

Then some smart ass can't refrain from making snide remarks about your return and speculation begins as to whether you really left, disabled your profile, lurked, etc - as if anybody really cares.

 

Then you fall into the trap of dignifing all the heckling by replying to it. Didn't you learn anything? Let it go. Ignore. All you're doing is playing into their hands.

 

If you decide to go again - just go - not in a snit - just stop posting and eventually everyone will get the message - "Little old Jack has gone!"

For once, I can agree with you, at least in part.

 

I think Jack's offer is extremely thoughtful and generous. I'd sure as hell be leery of extending such an invitation here, with what we've seen in the last 24 hours or so at the Message Center. I do wonder why some of our erstwhile participants have the need to take a dump on it. Namely Axebahia. On lots of issues, I consider Axebahia's views very similar to my own, but not on things like this. On the other hand, Dick, I rarely agree with you, but appreciate the fact that you came to Jackhammer's defense. Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

Come on, please be serious. Contrast my good-natured comments about this guy to the kind of negative investive that gets regularly thrown around here. There is simply no contest. I am simply not in those leagues. As for Jack, if he wants to share his medical history with us, and to take us along on the ups/downs of that journey, I think he has to expect a little fair comment from time to time.

I'm not on the same page with you when it comes to dumping on people like Jack and his medical history. He was making a kind and generous offer to folks and I don't see where that kind of offer deserves invective. As I said, I agree with you on many political issues, but when any of us, myself included, stoop to the level of kicking someone when they're down, it says more about us then it does about them.
