The Corner Pocket: Advice on Getting them to Escort?

I recently started a thread about escorts in New Orleans, and I’ve read with great interest the responses that have been posted there. Unfortunately, the consensus appears to be that the pickings are a bit slim in that city or, as mikey9nola put it, “it is a wasteland for true pros.”

 

Another member responded that I “might also consider hooking up with one of the strippers at the Corner Pocket. It is definitely doable.” I love the Corner Pocket, which is a bar where guys dance for tips. (Given that, perhaps I should have posted this under the Strip Clubs section. But what I’m really looking for are escorts, so I’m posting it here. I hope that’s okay!)

 

I have also heard that advice about the Corner Pocket from another great member of our online community, but I’m looking for specific advice on how to go about getting a dancer to also escort.

 

Last spring, when I was in NOLA on business, I went to the Corner Pocket a couple of times. I found most of the dancers to be very attractive and very personable. They’d strut by, I’d tip them, they’d strut back by, I’d tip them again, we’d engage in chit-chat, etc. I asked several of them if they did “private shows.” The response was always the same: “I don’t, but some of the guys around here do.” When I would ask which ones, the response was also always the same: “Well, you just have to ask them.”

 

So, it didn’t work for me. I don’t consider myself to be all that, but I’m not hideous by any stretch of the imagination. So I don’t think that was the issue. But was my approach a bad one? Does anyone have any advice on how do go about this more effectively?

 

I still hope something great might pop up (hmmm, okay, pun intended) on the other thread about NOLA escorts, but maybe somebody might post some insights about the Corner Pocket and how to get dancers to escort that would be helpful here.

You received good advice from the dancer, you just ask. I have been to the corner pocket several times and have always found my type that wanted to go back to my hotel. I am into the twink, swimmer types and boy next door. I wish I could think of their names, but it was last April that I was there. Good luck, be nice and persistent.

No advice specific to the Corner Pocket, but at my local strip bar I've taken a decent number of the boys home. It's almost never a spur-of-the-moment thing, though, it's someone I'm interested in enough to take in back for a private dance. If that goes well, and if they indicate (to quote Animal House) "a certain morally casual attitude", I'll ask them if they ever see anyone outside the bar, and if so, we'll trade phone numbers. Asking that way, I've sometimes been turned down, but I've never had anyone take offense. Once the ice is broken that way, easy to arrange after.

 

I've only had a couple guys offer outside services without going for a dance first, one guy is a good guy but the other seemed a bit crazy. It was close the the third sentence we exchanged.

The one caveat I need to begin with here is that my experience at the Corner Pocket was a number of years ago. I always sat at the bar and tipped dancers I found interesting. After dancers sets they would pass through the bar and I would offer to buy a guy I liked a drink. If he accepted and we chatted for a few minutes I would ask him how much he would charge for a private show at my hotel. I never asked him if he did private shows I simply asked him how much he charged for doing one. I also made a point of asking him in a way that nobody else in the bar overheard what I was asking. I NEVER used the words “escort” or “escorting” amazingly many of the guys were extremely sensitive about being considered “professionals”. If the guy admitted to doing private shows and named a price I found acceptable I would then be VERY specific regarding what I expected in a private show. I was also always polite and jocular in my approach and it seemed to work at least for me. Good luck.

You are correct, no private rooms. I see many had their private dances towards the back near the pool table, but some do it right there at your barstool.

I've been to NOLA a number of times and the Corner Pocket is a fun place. Since I'm into the bodybuilder type, I lower my expectations but I usually find something worth hanging around to tip. I have to admit, the majority of the guys there are totally not my type. I usually want to buy them a sandwich more than buy them a drink. But if there is someone with a little meat on them, it's easier for me to focus my attention on the one or two I may like and they usually get the hint to keep coming by or to just hang out if they aren't having to be up on the stage.

 

I'm with Epigonos above - if I'm in the market for some out-of-the-bar experience, I've just asked a guy if he wanted to do something later. I usually end up exchanging numbers and the rest takes care of itself.

I lived there for a while, and would visit the Corner Pocket when I wanted some fun. The first night I went it was packed, and I didn't get much attention. The next time I went was a weekday, and there were only a few customers. I played pool with a few of the dancers, and dropped about 50 bucks on my favorite in lap dances. I asked if any of the guys would be willing to go back to a hotel with me, and he pointed out the ones that he knew did that sort of thing. From then on, any time I stopped by, I would seek him out, buy a lap dance, and ask what guys that night did a little escorting on the side. One of the best escorting experiences of my life was with a guy from there. Unfortunately I couldn't review him because he didn't want to advertise he did that sort of thing.

John is not advertising any more and his phone is not answering. I had heard rumor that John was running some sort of service using the help of his former baseball team. It sounds so hot I can hardly stay focussed when considering it. Thanks for any info on John.
