Me too. I met Aaron about a decade ago. I enjoyed his stories about HooBoy. Since then, I have heard other very nice things about him from other well-know escorts.

Aaron proved that you do not have to be any one, two or three types to be very successful as an escort. I never hired him, and it was my loss.

I never met HooBoy or talked to him or wrote to him but I was on a trip with an escort when he continued to call the escort who eventually said I better talk to him because he won't quit calling until I do. He certainly interfered with my trip and visit with this escort.

Best regards,

KMEM

I never met Hooboy in person but I had the pleasure of speaking to him by phone once and trading an occasional email. Besides escorts, our common interest was casino gambling in Las Vegas and Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys :)

Two things on this thread- could Aaron be off by a year on when Hooboy's started? I broke my leg in 2 places the 1st weekend in 1998. I thought I remembered somehow finding Hooboy's site sometime after breaking my leg. The doctor wanted my leg elevated for 23 out of 24 hours a day for like 2 to 3 weeks. I quickly found out that I wanted that too as when I put my leg down, the blood would pool in my foot and my leg would throb painfully. I thought that I somehow found Hooboy's when searching the Internet for escort related things during my brief interludes with my leg down. In any case, after I found Hooboy's site, I think it took me years to join the Message Board as it was then called. I was afraid by joining that I would somehow be leaving traces of my identity- and someone would find out I was chatting on a 'gay message board' when I was living behind the shelter of 3 or 4 closet doors. I'm still not totally open- but I'm working for it. Who knows if not for Hooboy's helping to put some cracks in my doors by making escorts seem more accessible, I might still be padlocked in my own little fall out shelter.

As for Aaron Lawrence, I could never decide if I wanted to hire him. As long time readers know, I usually go for more muscular guys. But he had such great reviews and website. I actually called him once- and gave hiring him a lot of consideration. Sadly he quit escorting before I had the chance to hire.

It's great to see that posting by Aaron. I would occasionally wonder what he was up to, having hired him a few times during his escort years and always enjoyed the experience. The thing about Aaron as an escort was that he was very consumer-oriented - that is, he realized that the escort's role was to give the client a satisfying experience, and he really worked to do that.

Ouch! The ordeal may have lasted longer than you thought!

Hooboy's domain (typo and all) was first registered 08/30/1999. You may have bumped into him elsewhere online.

HOOBOY was a True Original as were some of the "Working Guys" now long "Retired" discussed on his site!

I definitely miss Greta's Pix and those days and Contributors....But Time does March On...

Thanks, Deej. Guess I was wrong. Maybe it was all the narcotics I was taking for pain at the time. Does anyone know when Rentboy started?

That's good reading. I regret never meeting Hooboy. When I first started reviewing escorts, he and I occasionally swapped emails about escorts, and always thought he would be a good guy to meet and enjoy company. It's nice to see those who knew him personally are able to give the next generation of Hoovillains insight into the man who started the revolution that has brought much joy to so many.

My start date was either March or May of 2000, so I interacted with Hooboy but never met him. We did speak when he called to confirm my first review. But, I used a different name for the review than Lucky. I think Danny Cruz got my first review.

If we are going to accurately remember Hooboy, then included in that would be his late night posts which did not often make sense. I once sent my friend deej a private message to urge him to remove a post that was not well-considered.

But that was not the main thing to remember about Hooboy. If he had not started this site, and its forum, I would have missed out on hours of free entertainment, not to mention the making of many friendships and encounters with so many interesting guys. So for that, I owe him thanks.

His last comment to me was about my pic that I had taken by a good friend with my arm around Lukas Ridgeston. He had always wanted to meet Lukas.

In my culture when remembering a deceased person we remember and mention only the good things. We forget about the bad ones. It's considered traditionally bad omen and presently more associated to lack of tact to speak ill of a dead person.

Thank you for bringing our attention to that article, jimboivyo. I wasn't aware it was there as I didn't scroll down.

would agree there. no reason to bring up the negative side of life on this. BN wrote this to celebrate the man and his memory, not to 'accurately' let folks know every intimate detail of hoo boy's life

I never met Hooboy in person but talked to him many times on he phone. He was responsible for my meeting up with BN, which has turned into a longtime friendship.

Thanks, I am and I will.

I brought some 'cool' weather. It's only 84°F / 29°C down to 72°F / 22°C tonight. It's gonna be a good night.
