I'm serious. I haven't a clue. I only looked at the spa section for the first time today, and I'm still clueless. I've always assumed that a massage of any kind was not for me because 1) a good male to male encounter for me very much involves the escort's pleasure, and a massage just seems to be all about me, and 2) I'm all skin and bones so what's to massage? So, I need a lot of help here. I don't even know where to start. The idea of a naked hot guy handling me all over, relaxing me, and, yet, giving me a "happy ending" is, obviously, quite appealing. I guess that what I'm asking is "how would I go about finding out if any kind of massage is a good idea for me, and how would I even start to figure out the masseur to choose??

For those of us with various and sundry soft-tissue complaints (muscles, connective tissues [q.v.], tendons and, to a much smaller amount, ligaments: The application of pressure; long strokes; deep strokes (get those knots out!); cranial-sacrel release; et cetera, et cetera, et cetera ... the proper application of the appropriate Healers hands can be a blessing from the gods. There is nothign inherently sexual about a message. I've only had one masseur who was able to get the message AND the sex right.

If I want sex: I will hire an escort. If I want a good body rub, I'll get a masseur. The entire idea of having a woman do these things to be is repulsive in the extreme: No offence to Tyro, Freshfluff, or others of their ilk intended.

Oops: I failed to respond to the question. Whilst you might be skin and bones, there are parts that have undue stress or cause pain. I used to have a "Jupiter Red Spot" on my left forearm, that was eventually eliminated by careful massage.

A good masseur will do a kind of body scan, so see what is not the way it should be. Their job is to put it right. It's surprising what they can find. And yes, Virginia, it's all about you. For once, that's what you're paying for.

Go for someone who is (a) certified [if that's available in your area]; licensed [same]; an DOESN'T offer a "rub and a tug". keeping their clothes on through the session is not a bad idea.

Enough out of me. Ask Josephga he's our online expert.

And enjoy. THe afterglow is unbelievable.

To decide if a massage is right for you first you must decide what type of massage you want first. the examples in the spa section of this board are more on the erotic or sensual side and I always got the impression that their clients aren't really looking for anything resembling a real massage but more of a sexual encounter at a discount price. A untrained person could actually harm you. I get a few clients a year that have been harmed by guys making false claims of training. I agree with the previous post you want sex hire a escort.

I agree with the posts that preceded this. And I'll admit that after 6-7 years of massage, I still haven't quite figured it out, which is why I'm still disappointed sometime. First, you have to figure out what you want. If you want a real massage that will address specific muscular or other physical problems, go to a certified masseur. If you want some genital stimulation, and don't want what an escort provides, but somewhere in the middle, there are lots of "masseurs" on M4M and Masseurfinder that will provide this middle way. Neither a real masssage nor an escort service. I go for this "middle way," and sometimes I hit the jackpot. What does that mean? I'm not sure I can tell you, but like Justice Stewart and his definition of obscenity, I know it when I see it. I think that some trial and error is in order for you. You will win some and will lose some, and in a short time, you will be able to discern the difference between providers, and will also see what it is that you really want. And you also have to realize that people who recommend masseurs are recommending experiences that THEY had, and that YOU will NOT necessarily have. A good recommendation in this chat room is not necessarily a good recommendation for YOU. But a bad verdict can be trusted: stay away!

I'd get a massage if you want to spend a significant period of time being rubbed down. There might be a release or not, but from what I've seen here and elsewhere, most of the session is spent on rubbing the rest of the bod.

In general, it's always nice to have attractive people touching you, which is why hot guys are an attractive choice. (Of course, if they become pushy, it's a problem. But that's another thread.)

And Gallahad: I totally get where you're coming from.

I get a massage every 2-3 weeks, its a real massage sometimes upper body somestimes legs and lower, it is very relaxing to me and also because of my own stress and back issues I find it very medicinal. I to use a escort for fun and a massuer for massages, not that escorts havent given me massages before, but the ones that I get the most out of are not sexual or erotic/sensual. I prefer a male but have had one or 2 females. try one there not for everyone but I look forward to mine getting a double tommorow.

Unsub - When you get your hair cut does the person massage your scalp when shampooing it? If so, does it feel good? If you like that feeling you'll enjoy a massage. Communication is essential to receiving a massage you'll enjoy. Just be sure to tell the masseur what type of pressure you want as the massage progresses and be sure to get your feet massaged. In my eyes that is the best!! The massage is about YOUR pleasure, not the masseur.

Are you doing facials too? (Not THAT kind. :D) I thought most masseurs mostly use massage oil, which Aveda doesn't really make

For a beginner to massage, who is looking for a "legit" massage, I would recommend finding a place like Massage Envy. They are a chain of nice, upscale massage places.. Completely on the up and up.. no sexual play that I have ever heard of. Again, they have many different therapists.. some are good, some not so good.. but they are all trained and licensed in the state they are in. Talk to the person making the appointment. Explain to him or her that you are new to massages.. tell about any issues, pains, stress you have, and let the receptionist know that you prefer a male therapist.

There is a massage therapy school that I use. Obviously legitimate - everything to state licensing standards. I have received some very nice massages at a very reasonable cost. About half of them have been from students that have graduated but still need to get their required hours in for the license.

they actually do have an oil. they don't offer it on their website. you have to ask for it in their store and they custom blend it with the scent combination you want right there.

I've actully STILL never gotten a Real massage. the idea isnt appealing to me at all BECAUSE I cant stand when a guy attempts to do it to me during sex, so I cant imagine a whole session of just THAT !!!!! Who knows, maybe one day I will, but I guess I just dont like being felt up. I prefer to DO the feeling.....

My friend I do 3 somes with sometimes says the same, he has an escorting site and a massage site, both marketed differently but he gets lots of calls from men wanting a massage but when they arrive have no intentions of having a massage, they just want the sex £20 cheaper

I dropped erotic massage from my offerings and sales doubled. Most of those wanting erotic massage are really just looking for discount sex.. I had a guy call while ago and asked what kind of massage do I do? even though it says what kind i offer in all ads. then he asked if I did sensual? normally their idea of sensual is still sex and not a true sensual massage. Since changing my marketing I've discovered that most openly gay men actually don't purchase erotic or sensual massage and that its majority those massages are only purchased by married or closeted guys.. anytime someone calls and says what kind of massages do you do? I automatically know what they are hinting at
