I sincerely apologize to everyone involved with the Mike Austin thread—particularly Mike.

It was never my intention to diss or damage any escort's reputation or their ability to make money at the end of the day. It was a question that was poorly phrased on my part, and I take responsibility for the thread and its direction. If you believe that I have ulterior motives, contempt for clients or other escorts—well, hopefully this will be a step in reversing that opinion, since I do not, and never have.

I do not get along with some of you. I realize this, and I think the best course of action for both of us is to simply walk away from situations that inflame that dynamic. Don't push my buttons, and I won't push yours. That said, I have no intention of posting who I am at this time, and I don't expect you to either. I've certainly never asked any client of mine to reveal personal information other than what he's comfortable telling me—it's simply understood as being part of "the game." I believe I contribute more positive elements than negative to this board. If I didn't, I wouldn't continue to try to make people laugh, or ask pointed questions, or try to help clients have a better time with escorts. My real or escort identities should not be necessary for me to offer something useful.

This is meant to be a fun activity—and like all fun activities, sometimes things get fucked up and someone has to press the "reset" button. I'm doing that now, and I promise to give a little more thought and consideration for the threads I post, particularly when they affect other people in the escorting community. I certainly would want the same for myself.

A very mature approach and you are to be applauded for taking responsibility for your thread, and apologizing.

As you know very well, from others posts to/about you and from the thread on Mike, words can be very hurtful, even if they were not intentionally meant to be so. We all can learn an important lesson from what happened by being more aware and show better concern with threads we start and participate in. Not everyone has the same thickness of skin and we can't protect everyone, but clearly there is a line we shouldn't cross and should be careful as we approach it. We rely on self modulation for the most part, and sometimes it works but other times it doesn't.

Ultimately Max, the words of apology are wonderful but the really important thing is how you modify your behavior, attitude and further posts going forward. Actions speak louder than words. I hope you take this experience to heart and consider how you really want to participate in this community. Take the high road or take the low road. You seem like an intelligent guy with good experience and a witty sense of humor. I submit that you are well suited for the high road. The alternative, namely the low road is, unfortunately, pretty crowded around here these days.

Finally, unfortunately there are many who have very good memories and they may use this event as a new button to push in the future. How you are able to deal with the button pushing is very important as it is not very realistic to assume some people will ever stop pushing people's buttons when they have a chance.

Max, I agree with everyone that you are taking the most honorable approach. It's a difficult task but the right one. Have you heard anything from the person most involved in this episode, Mike Austin? We have seen his first reaction, but not his response to your apology.

He responded to me in a PM.

Maxwell, I don’t think you need to apologize to anyone on this board except for Mike Austin. Your question and intent was an innocent one that morphed into something totally different. You got called out on it and you apologized and we are all going to move forward. I respect that.

I also appreciate your anonymity. The handful of escorts here who post regularly are usually very courteous and friendly; they offer up gentle advice and are very circumspect in their responses not wanting to offend anyone and trying to be magnanimous and equal-opportunity in their attitudes towards customers. I’m sure some of those posts could be sugar coated to not offend or disrespect any potential clients on this board who might be reading it. I know that cannot be true all the time! If it were a forum with anonymity among the escorts or an escort-members only forum i'm sure the discussions would be more frank, open and insightful a la sex-in-the-city sunday morning brunch with the girl friends over virgin marys or something...

I like to hear the negative stories and sordid details about escorting (esp from one who posts here not too infrequently-- although, it think he might need some career counseling....). It fascinates me in an intellectually curious way. I also enjoy your writing and ascerbic wit. Maxwell, don’t ever change or reveal yourself:p

To Max - I agree with the others here that you have done the honorable thing here by apologizing.

To the rest of my fellow forum members - I hope we'll all remember this in the future. Its not that unusual for personal opinions about an escort's appearance to be expressed in a negative and potentially hurtful way when someone asks for information here.

Everyone on this site is guilty of behavior and comments that are objectionable to someone at some point. I have been vocal before about threads that are started which target or riducule members or escorts. However, this is an "escort information" site and therefore information about escorts will be requested, brought up and discussed. As long as the intent is not to slander, hurt, demean, or ridicule, I see no harm done. Perhaps Max's thread was a bit of a mistep, but he did explain his intention, and although the explanation was felt to be questionable by some, he has publicly apologized for his thread which might have been misconceived, and more importantly he made amends with the Subject, Mike himself....

How Max handles his own presence on this site is his OWN business. Being an escort shouldnt imply he needs to "out" himself here since he has stated he really isnt looking for business.

There are MANY members here who Choose to remain anonymous, or create fake personas for themselves to speak their piece without consequence, and noone seems to take issue with that, and often embrace these people and their rantings. Lets not make an example of an anonymous escort, who should have the same rights and be shown the same respect as anyone else here. I believe the fact that Max chooses not to take all this too seriously is what rubs people the wrong way. For ME, its part of his charm, and while he has always been respectful to ME, I endorse his participation and move to put this to rest.

I personally find no need (and hope he doesn't) for Max to modify his behavior, attitude or anything else going forward in his postings here. And, I do hope he continues posting. One questionable thread which has been publicly recognized and apologized for, should satisfy everyone's hunger for something more.

If people are seeking behavioral and attitude modification from members every-time someone expresses themselves in a manner in which they do not like - this board will be full of nothing but Stepford Wives. And while there might be some here who would like a board such as that - it's individuals like Max, and their personal expressions and unique personalities which keep a board fresh and interesting to read and participate.

I hope Max doesn't change a thing about himself.
