No matter what sexual activities, safe or otherwise one engages in, negates that individual's voluntary donation of his time and services to a fund raising activity! As of yet, I have seen no proof on this thread that SB engages in bareback activities and even if he does that he advocates that activity to others.

IMO, no, as one does not have to engage in safe sexual activities, especially if one is already HIV+ and his partner is also HIV+, to advocate safe sex and volunteer his services to raise funds for AIDS, but one would definitely have to believe in non-agression and be against war to engage in a peace rally!

I think you've said it all in your usual backhanded yet tactful way. I suppose you'll want to join the bandwagon that says I am DK simply because I agree with him on this subject.

 

The truth is the truth, EVEN when it comes from someone who has alledgedly done all the things he has been accused of. Just because he might be reprehensible in your eyes doesn't mean he is not correct. I would also be remiss in not pointing out that when I have come down on the opposite side of this issue (ie finding out that escorts accussed of bbing did NOT do it, no one batted an eye). Here's what's really happening....

 

The Bad Boys Pool Party has raised over $150,000 for AIDS charities over the last 5 years. Last year's party in Palm Springs, alone, accounted for over 40 grand that went directly to the charity.

 

That's not bad for an event who's sole purpose is to put "happy" back into "gay".

 

This event is shaping up to be the only successful porn event in SoCal this year, and a major money-maker for the charity, and it eats at the innards of certain "journalists" who are not and never will be involved, so they're determined to bring it down.

 

Odd as it may be, this thread will actually probably boost attendance at the party which will in the end help the charity. The talent is all lined up to make this a fun day in the sun, and for the first time in the history of the event we're not covering ANY travel or appearance fees. It's all being donated.

 

It's a pity some VERY SMALL individuals have a need to drag it through the mud.

That's very nice, but it doesn't really justify the patronizing attitude. $150,000 is not going to make much of a dent in the cost of treating all the people who have become HIV+ as a result of their involvement in the porn industry. There is nothing wrong with people in that industry having a party to raise money for a worthy cause and to make themselves feel better about their connection to this health problem, but let's not pretend it is really solving anything.
