Hey guys,

I finally got my DSL up and running...what a relief. Now I need some serious help. Does anyone have any blueprints for building an ARk. Seriously, I thought yesterday's rain and flooding was bad, but in the last five minutes the heavens have opened and it is coming DOWN. I don't recall seeing anything on the news about it, but does Al Queda have rain seeding equipment?

The amazing thing to me, having grown up in the Midwest and lived all over the US, is what a MAJOR NEWS STORY every rain is.

All the networks go into STORM WATCH mode for what amounts to a drizzle for 3 days. Our admin wears platform shoes to walk through the puddles.

Meteorologists file breathy reports about rain and high winds from the local beaches. They interview surfers about the high surf ... and the surfers are like "Woo Hoo! Big waves!"

One of my co-workers got a wakeup, though. Homes in SoCal never get water-tested. His new home's roof leaked. They don't get this sort of test often.

(I offered to loan him buckets. He wasn't amused.)

We really don't have to worry about CA falling into the ocean during an earthquake. A good old midwest thunderstorm would wash it away. ;-)

I know what you mean, Deej. Here in Houston, we have two seasons - rainy or not - and we alternate them twice as fast to make up for it. So Spring and Fall are always rainy. Yet it often seems like the majority of local drivers have never learned how to drive in it. And there's always someone willing to dive into flood waters seemingly not knowing that they are braving snakes and floating ants. Which is all kinda funny in a "Divine Comedy" kind of way.
