Thanks for your colorful report. It's great to hear that Taboo is making a comeback. Your photos of the village and url links to some of the boys are great!

Thx man, glad you enjoyed.

I'm ready to go back.

Those photos are amazingly well done and they brought back all sorts of memories. The street transformation seems to have really developed since I was there quite a few years ago. Thanks a lot, great update myh friend!

Thanks again guys! Glad you enjoyed. I love taking atmospheric pix like this. Obviously can't shoot in the clubs, but St Catherine this time of year is fun to shoot. I should've taken a bunch more, but the camera gets bulky to carry around! :)

If you read my many posts here about Montreal, You will see that I have sworn off the place...BUT I must say that your pictures bring back fond memories AND I think that I might have to re-think my decision and maybe just give those Canadian boys a little visit..

Haha thanks, that's quite the compliment! It's going to be a once or maybe twice a year thing for me now. I used to live within reasonable driving distance, but now it's the whole ordeal so it requires more effort. And it's not the Montreal it used to be, but it's still worth keeping on the radar.

Slight chance I may visit 4th of July week... I am visiting friends and family in New Hampshire so I might pop up for a couple days.

First a little bit of a history lesson so you will understand my perspective.

I moved to Montreal in 2002 and left in 2008 for Thailand. I had been going to Montreal for quite a few years before moving and took the plunge in 2002.

Montreal at that time was the undisputed King of Nude Male Strip Bars in North America and probably the world. It also had an excellent supply of cute escorts.

Montreal at the time had everything, Bars that specialized in Muscle, Twinks, Variety.

I was there for the Twinks and Taboo was the top of the mountain. At times Adonis also had a good line up but Taboo was just unbelievable. I remember the first time I walked into Taboo. It was about 10pm on an April night and not only were there no seats left there was very little room left to stand.

It didn't take long to see why. 30 dancers most of which could have done photo shoots for any Porn Magazine that specialized in Twinks. And many of them put on a show dancing that was worth putting up with the crowd. On a scale of 1-10 there was nothing less then an 8 and I can find plenty of people to back me up on that. I actually thing the first time I went in 2000 the back room dances were $6 and you could have these Hot Twinks in your lap for the duration of a song.

The Back Room was never very private but it was amazing what some dancers could accomplish in plain view. LOL

.

The purpose of this history lesson is that I know Montreal and their Strip Bars better then most who post here and the other Board.

It was with great sorrow that I watched them deteriorate . Part was the strength of the US Dollar. Part was the good economy in Canada that provided jobs for the former dancers. Part was Bars continuing raising prices of the Dances and in Taboo's case the major reason was poor management.

But by the time I left in 2008 there was no reason to visit Montreal if you wanted to see Twinks. Many people tried to say that it was still ok and not that bad but when you read what they wrote it was evident things were not even close to what they used to be.

Over most of the last 3 years , the number of posts on Montreal has declined here and the other board and many have cut their trips to 1 a year or moved on to other destinations.

Montreal was still a great city but not much of a Strip Club destination for Twinks.

But recently on this Board there have been some posts about the revival of Taboo.

After 3 years , I read these posts with great suspicion but I could not resist a trip to my former home and place that holds so many good memories.

I arrived this Friday and after checking into Embassy Suites I headed to the Gay Village .

It was my intention to check out Campus first because they used to have a variety in the afternoon including Twinks..

I passed by about 7pm and there were 3 muscle boys out front so I gave it a pass until Saturday afternoon.

I got a table at my favorite Italian restaurant and settled in for some people watching. During the succeeding hour I failed to see one Hot Boy. I take it back I saw 2 but they were in a lip lock with their girl friends. This would never have happened in the old days and I was beginning to think that this trip may have been a mistake.

I walked by the former Adonis (now JP's ). Stuck my head in and saw no reason to enter. 830pm and time for Taboo.

Taboo looked much the same with a little more class of white table cloths and candles. As I walked in there was a Blonde Twink naked doing splits on the floor showing off his delicious Ass. Name is Tyler and the only dancer this night from the past. During the next 3 hours I never saw a repeat dancer. The DJ told me there were 30 dancers and I believe him.

There was Xavier a beautiful young boy of 18 with an acrobatic display on stage and the body that only an 18 year old can have. Spoke very little English but fun in the Back. There was Luda with a thin sexy beard and a Body to die for. 22 years old. Straight boy but flexible. Said his GF doesn't care as long as he brings home the money. Perfect English and an engaging personality. There was Andrew who I would guess to be 25 and the body of a Gymnast. Cut so beautifully in all the right places.. There was Trey who reminded me of a young Paul Newman with beautiful eyes and a body that does not quit.

There were so many others whose names I did not get or understand..

Taboo is definitely Back. Not yet what it was in 2002 but pretty damn good. If you like Twinks and want to see them Nude and have a chance to have them in your Lap then nothing compares with Taboo.

I know many have fled to Johnnys in Ft Lauderdale and who would not want to be there in the dead of winter. However there is no comparison.

1. At Johnnys you need to bring a suitcase of clothes and a new pair of lungs to handle the disgusting smoke. What a disgrace . Taboo is smoke free

2. Johnnys has limited Nudity on stage and I do mean limited

3. Certain nights there are nothing but screaming Fem Boys. Very little masculinity of any kind. I like Twinks but not girls.

4. No cover charge at Taboo and drinks 1/2 the price.

5. Dances. 1/2 the price

I have had good nights in Johnnys and in the winter a good choice but when the weather is good? Head to Montreal. If you stopped going like I did , Go Back. If you have never been and enjoy .Johnnys then get yourself a ticket and head to Montreal which offers much more then strip bars.

Taboo is back and there is nothing that compares in North America if you like Twinks.

And of course if you like Muscle then Stock and Campus will compete with anything you can find in Florida and you won't die of Lung Cancer

Just returned from a trip to Montreal and checked out all the clubs... With all the chatter about Taboo's revival, I had to find out for myself...Went on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to see how this club is making a come back... When I entered it looked as if I were in a restaurant. Yes, the tables all have table cloths and candles on them, it looked really nice plus the energy in the club was good, unlike JP's which was dead... I was greeted by a man in a suit, aka the manager, who thanked me for coming and wished me a good time... Taboo is not a very large club and all the tables (situated very close together) were occupied, so, I sat at the bar... I counted about 15 dancers, however, more were outside smoking and others were in the lap dance room... Back in Taboo's hay day, one of my biggest complaints was that the dancers would sit/spend most of the night with one customer and not circulate, this was true when I was there, as a result, I felt invisible. If you are into twinks, then, Taboo is your heaven... For me, I wasn't comfortable looking at these young and rather skinny boys, some with eye make-up, others with bleached blond highlights acting rather feminine. I realize that the dancers have to be 18+ to work at a strip club but these dancers are very youthful looking in both appearance and build... I stayed for one drink and headed over to Bar Stock which is more my cup of tea.

Evidently you didn't stay long enough to give a useful report. I was there Friday night for 4 hours. Of the 30 dancers at least 10 were in the 25-28 age group and to call them skinny would be ridiculous. Were they the steroid straight boys of Stock. Of course not the Taboo customer has no interest in straight men. Yes there were a few boys that could be called skinny and had some make up on. Imagine that it is a Gay Club!!! And by the way I can just imagine how much make up is used by the men at Stock, just in a different way maybe.

The youngest boys of the night and I do mean 18-19 were also for the most part not skinny but more a swimmers build.

We all have our own likes and dislikes but a report from someone who probably spent 15 minutes and knows in advance that he is going to a Club with GAY Boys which are not his preference is for the most part useless!!

Firecat, Why so hostile and defensive? Everyone here is entitled to their opinion and, unlike you, I don't view any reports as "useless". I reported on what I saw during my time there and called Taboo a "heaven" for twink lovers.... Please don't put words into my mouth, I mentioned I stayed for one drink, not 15 minutes, nor did I state the actual age of these dancers, just that they were youthful looking. If you find my post "useless", that's fine with me. As for what I experienced at any other club is also my opinion. It's obvious you have already stated yours. No reason to be so mean spirited about it.

I think I am being completely fair. You state you were uncomfortable looking at young skinny boys with make up and blonde highlights. Your prejudice colors what you write . First as I stated many of the 30 boys were in the 25-28 age range. Only one or two had blonde highlights and most had no make up. If you had been there long enough to see all of the dancers which of course you were not then your statements might have some validity.

You talk about how the dancers don't circulate. How would you know that. You were not there long enough to have any idea what goes on. When dancers are bought a drink they sit with the customer and don't rush away . There is a different mentality from Stock dancers whose only reason of existence is to get you into the private area.

I have been to Stock many times with friends . It is not my cup of tea and I would not write a report on stock because I know my prejudices would color my report . I would not presume to tell people what they can expect in Stock from a 1 drink visit ( ok maybe 20 minutes) and if it was longer then that I guess you were not that uncomfortable.

Fire - totally on your side in terms of the opinion on the clubs, but yeah man, jeez put the claws away. :)

This back and forth tends to happen all the time when Ft Lauderdale comes up. It's plain and simple. Twink lovers love Johnnys and those who like 'em more butch n' beefy like Boardwalk. Same thing in Montreal. Sure there is some crossover, but generally Taboo isn't going to cut it for those who are Boardwalk fans. And Johnnys lovers will be stunned by how much better Taboo has become.

The more clubs out there, the better. When you don't have competition, you don't step up. Clearly the reason Taboo is winning is because this new guy is really putting 110% into everything. The weekend I went, I saw him mopping the floor after a spilled drink, greeting customers, coaching the dancers (who all seemed to have a healthy respect for him as their boss and friend). That kind of management should be a kick in the ass to a club like JP so they can get back to how good they were a year ago. A year ago, JP was where I spent 90% of my time. This trip, it was about 20%.

I'm sure most of us will agree that sharing opinions on strip clubs is what makes this Forum so interesting. I doubt very much that we will all agree on anything but, hopefully, we will all be open minded to a different take. A frequent poster in this Forum who left daddy's for another site, reminded me today that calling someone's report "useless" only drives members away. I certainly don't want to see that occur... For me, it doesn't take 4 hours to recognize the difference between quality and quantity in a lineup. I've been visiting Taboo for years and do hope they have a successful come back.

Jake, thanks for your contributions to this Forum and sharing your insight on Taboo, however, I will never "totally agree" with you. :)

Various opinions are worthwhile when there is a basis for them and when they are not colored by a bias. You show your bias again when you say it doesn't take you 4 hours to recognize the difference between quantity and quality.

No one is interested in your opinion of the quality of line up at Taboo. By your own admission twinks are not your type and you have never liked the Club. So keep your opinions to yourself. Post on threads about Stock where you are an expert. That is my whole point.

I can't stand Stock. A bunch of straight men grubbing for money who can't dance or put on any kind of a show and have the audacity to charge $20 for a useless dance for a customer they have nothing in common with

If I see a thread on here about Stock of which there have been many , I don't try to insert my bias and opinions into the discussion. I am intelligent enough to recognize that customers who like Stock have no interest in the opinions of an avowed Twink Lover . Why don't you do the same Cooper?

Firecat, There you go again, putting words into my mouth. It obvious to me that if someone doesn't agree with you then they have no right sharing their "useless" opinions... Fortunately, most people don't view it that way and it appears you don't either, otherwise, why take it so personally? If my "bias" is so obvious to you, then, I assume it would be to others. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Back in the hay day of Taboo, I was posting about the club regularly and in a most favorable light. Simply put, Friday night at Taboo didn't work for me, I'm happy it did for you.

That is what you wrote . I'm not putting words in your mouth. I challenge you to find one thread where your post was positive about the dancers at Taboo. And while your at it I challenge you to find a thread about Stock where I posted my biased opinions about the dancers at Stock

As far as whether others agree with me lets wait 48 hours. There has only been one reply besides yours.

Firecat, This is your challenge, not mine...If my word isn't good enough for you, then, be my guest and do your own research of the Forums... One post you'll find was written after I attended a New Year's Eve party at Taboo.. I was having such an amazing time with the dancers that I didn't even join my friends at Bar Stock. The quality of dancers that night was excellent.

What about the words you say I put in your mouth. I guess you realize they came out of your mouth, Best way not to admit when you are wrong is not to answer the question but change the subject You were there for 1 drink by your own admission. The most dancers you could have seen on stage is 6. 6 out of 30. Yea you know what you are talking about!???

Firecat chill-out man. You're reading way too much into Cooper's comments. I think he was entirely fair with his comments and not at all nasty.....unlike your comments. All opinions are valid here until they cross the line into rudeness...which you have accomplished quite well.
