It must be a bitch when they reach that age and can't afford dentures.

Correct, living in San Francisco and blond (or would have been if my hair hadn't fallen out) of Norwegian ancestry. Hot? well.....

I'm playing, just not as often as I might have had the reception been different at first.

Thunderbuns and regulation? Are they a couple? Can they successfully turn the board around and back to its previous vitriol?

Oh gosh! I hope not. It's so much more fun - not to mention educational - having the board controlled by the triumpherate comprised of Jackhammer (who might off himself before he gets a chance to suck off all the other members cocks), Lucky (whom I'll bet is anything but), and Cooper (remember her - M4M's answer to Nero Wolfe) with the odd (and I do mean odd) rude comment thrown in by our Southern Juvinile Hayseed (SJH for short) - you know the little Jewish gentleman whose mommy and daddy are soooo talented lawyers.

With this little group at the helm, trained and tutored by Dr. Laura, we can look forward to an engaging 2003!

It's so encouraging to keep company with dear friends whose IQs and ages are interchangeable.

While I agree as to the sentiment expressed here, however, I can't think of any post I have read that was racist, bigoted or otherwise discriminatory that didn't receive rebuke of some kind. I think racism, bigotry of any sort, discrimination and predatory bragging of doing young bois all requires a strong rebuke from the thinking members of this community--even if it is repetitious--otherwise, silence will be deemed acceptance and then the silent are in effect, enablers. Just MHO.

Accusing people of using other screen names is what you and a few others do in place of posting real responses to what is said here. Recently you accused ad rian of being Truth Teller. I don't know what other screen names he uses or what other screen names you use and I don't care. I just know that his posts are a lot more thoughtful, interesting and original than anything I've ever seen from you, so I hope he keeps posting. He and I had a very acerbic discussion on the Mideast, but I put more value on the participation of people like him who think about and talk about something real than the participation of those like you who seem dedicated to proving how trivial and self-absorbed gay men are.

You also recently started a thread to invite people to ask FFF to stop posting. The consensus of the people who replied was that they find his posts more interesting than yours. I agree with that too.

For jackhammer, I usually don't read your posts because they all seem to be about you, a subject that is not of much interest to me. You create so many posts and threads that it's impossible to ignore them. You're free to do that if you want to, but I think it's ridiculous for you to go to so much trouble to make yourself a topic of conversation here and then complain when people talk about you. If you really crave people's attention that much you will just have to take the good with the bad.

All evidence to the contrary. Recall an occasion when my thread about George Orwell (not me) created enough discusssion to interest you enough for 10 or more replies.

Try HARDER!. Someone as bright as you should be able to control himself, just as he implies others do .

You're free to do that if you

Damn right!

Since the thread was started under the topic LEARNING CURVE, you decided it meant complaining. Not so, but you're free to have your opinion. As for accepting criticism, that's what a learning curve is. Sure expect to do just that; take the good with the bad. It would have been interesting to me to read a thread started by you so I could get an idea of proper form and subject, but gee, I couldn't find one in the lounge or deli going all the way back to when I first started.

One last thought, I don't mind anyone expressing their opinion of me or any subject. Don't really even mind the criticism of me and my lack of humor or ability to act my age, or lack of teeth (F-Man, I do have all my own ). But it seems to me someone who only pops out now and then to slam someone, disables their profile as though being on this board was some kind of embarrassment ..well, that person isn't real to me. So I have no fear of anything you might say to or about me. If you meant to inflict pain, you'll have to pump up and try harder. Your hits have as much substance as your profile.

This is perhaps the most surprising post I've read here. The fact that everyone fights back and battles one another is to be expected. The fact that a seemingly intelligent person like woodlawn would call any of the rantings of ad rian thoughtful, interesting and original is mindboggling. True, he is an educated man, but his incessant desire to make fun of and berate Jews and Israel in at least 50% of his posts, no matter what the subject, indicates his kindergarten mentality. On occasion he tries to make it seem he's only against Israel's policies in the mideast, but that is belied by his need to drag that stupid wife-murdering rabbi and silly thieving-actress into his arugments only because they are Jews, certainly not because they have known opinions on middle east oppression. A most distasteful individual indeed!

As far as jackhammer goes, he seems quite able to take care of himself. He learns quickly apparently!

"He learns quickly apparently!"

Does that sentence use two adverbs? That would be getting way ahead of me. Personally I would have said that he apparently learns quickly, but I am not an expert here.

Just trying to bring more seriousness to the board!

Well, you've done that - and I think a comma between the two adverbs would help. Or, if not that, perhaps a cock up your hole? Just a thought.

Distasteful perhaps - but still interesting.

Hitler would qualify as distasteful - so would Osama, but I'd give anything to be able to sit down and talk to both of them.

P.S. Watch for my next screen name - sukamarine, coming to a theatre near you.

First, although that thread was supposed to be about the TIA program, you still managed to work in a reference to your 'battle with depression,' a subject you never seem to tire of discussing. Second, the great majority of my replies in that post were to ad rian, not you. He made it an interesting (if aggravating) thread.

Perhaps it is the meds you keep talking about that prevent you from realizing that when you create threads on a daily basis there is no way anyone who opens the Lounge page can avoid seeing them.

I decided it meant complaining when I saw the sarcastic remarks you made to a couple of people who have been talking about you. They fit my definition of complaining.

>It would have been interesting to me to read a

>thread started by you so I could get an idea of proper form

Not all of us crave attention as much as you do. It really varies from person to person.

I was under the impression that the reason you and everyone else who participates here uses a made-up name rather than real names is that you don't want people to know about your association with this website. Is that not so? If not, why not post your real name and address here? If it is so, what exactly is the point of posting a 'profile,' since there is no way of knowing whether any of the information in it has anything to do with reality?

I'm not interested in knowing your name, address or any other information about you, so the deal you propose doesn't include anything I want. I've never posted personal information about myself on this or any other message board and I've never asked anyone else to do so. Jackhammer is the one who's complaining about people who don't want to share personal information, not me. Why not offer your deal to him?

But the question I asked remains unanswered. If don't mind having people know about your association with this website then there is no reason not to post that information (other tnan the fact that the message board rules forbid it, or used to). It shouldn't be relevant to your decision whether I or others post such information about ourselves. If having the world know about your association is not a problem for you then the fact that other people feel it is a problem for them doesn't change your situation, does it?

Sorry, I've been travelling again so I missed this. Look my friend, I am still waiting for anyone here to make a coherent argument for why it is prima facie antisemitic to discuss: (1)sexual abuse or murdering rabbis in the context of threads about abuse by RC priests is antisemitic; (2) Israeli torture and occupation in the context on either the war on terror or the war on Iraq; (3) the real life name of an actress who is ordered by a court to use that name when travelling etc. Sorry, simply because any of these lines of argument make you squirm does not make them antisemitic, and I and others wil not be scared away from here by your totalitarian impulses. If you disagree with something I write, try to refute it by logic and argument, rather than name-calling, if you can!

RE: Message Board boredom

Sorry, I forgot to reiterate that I reject out of hand the idea that to criticize either Jews in general or Israel in particular is prima facie antisemitic. To adopt that view is to argue that this one religion, ethnicity race [?] (take your pick) is beyond criticism. To do so is to patronize them and to infatalize them, and an individual or group that is not held responsible for their actions or choices whether because they are thought to be noble "savages" or just plain noble is a group that is liable to be ostracized, targeted and victimized. I suggest you go back and read about life in the Weimar Republic of Germany if you have any doubts about the danger of the strategy you suggest. Far from helping the Jews, you lead them down a path that is fraught with great danger.

I really agree with you on this point. It baffles me to think that anybody would go through the trouble of having two anonymous names to post under here. I still doubt it occurs, although I do wonder whether the same people who throw that charge around here with regularity have a guilty conscience on that point.
