Why isn't the current style of guy's clothes sexy?

I'm a constant cruiser in public. By cruiser, I don't mean trying to pick up guys, but I sure love checking them out. But I can't stand the way these younger guys are dressing now! The girls are all wearing tight jeans, but all the guys are wearing jeans with enough material to make three pairs of pants. There is nothing sexy about them. Or am I wrong? What am I missing?

Are there any styles that you wish would come back? I wish the following would come back in style:

1) Faded form fitting Levi cut-offs. Nothing sexier on a guy with a muscle butt and legs. I'd pay money for this to come back!

2) Don't laugh. But I always liked guys in white jeans. There was just something sexy about it. If they had a good body, their butt and legs really showed in white jeans.

3) Jeans that are more form fitting as opposed to these really baggy jeans. Not skin tight, but just more formed to the body.

4) Oh, I almost forgot. I always loved a guy with a hot body, form fitting jeans, and wearing cowboy boots!

I guess at 40, I'm just getting old. x(

Three looks that have always appealed to me:

1) Snug fitting cords

2) Naturally ripped jeans (those carefully torn or cut ones don't do it for me - the ripps have to occur from hard wear - and they should occur where you can almost but not quite see the hidden treasures. Nothin' like a good tease!

3) Bib overalls that are loose - that means too big - with all side buttons undone and wearing nothing underneath. Wow - hot!!!

I once saw Richard Gere dressed like this in a farmer's market in Montreal one hot summer morning. If you stood along side of him, you could practically see down to his kneecaps. And believe me - he knew exactly what he was doing.

i wouldn't have left his side til he punched me out, called the police for stalking him, or invited me to his hotel room!

I too like to see a well built guy in 501's (505's at the MOST). Guys just don't wear them enough nowadays (or at all). There is nothing sexy about baggy jeans. I have a buddy (handsome guy, nice butt, nice lean body) who wears only baggy jeans. I've never asked him why, but I wll now. Personally I'm a white T-shirt and 501's kind of guy.

Another fashion peeve are the cargo pants. I prefer to see a guy in gym shorts (or cut-offs). They don't have to be Daisy Dukes (for god's sake!). Just shorts that show a bit more of a guy's legs. I've got a few pairs of gym shorts that I wear in the summer. When out for a stroll I do notice that they are a bit shorter (about mid-thigh) than most guys wear. But I've also been complimented. This past summr I realized that I've been complimented about my legs since high school!!

I won't get into beach wear (where are the boys in speedos?!?!).

There are definitely plenty of well built guys out there who would look really hot in better fittting jeans!

Just wondering whose clothing you are refering to.

I'm a Toronto boi, and I know that everywhere I go there are plenty of guys in fitted jeans, in fact the newest thing is guys low-rise jeans, have a wicked pair of Diesel jeans that are fitted and low slung. Same goes for the tops, lots of guys I see (myself included) wear fitted shirts. In fact I feel uncomfortable in clothing that hangs loose from the body.

Maybe you're refering to the so-called urban hip hop style? I dunno.

Just to follow up on my earlier reply here's some stuff you might like, its from a Milanese label started up by a couple of fellow Canadians, called D-SQUARED. They also did costumes for Madonna's Drowned World Tour (and the mud splattered jeans in Don't Tell Me). The first three are from the current collection, the last three from earlier collections. Let me know if you like them.

;)

In the late 60's/early 70's we all (well, when we were, let's say 15 to 20 yo ;-) ), wore tight jeans which showed something of our...umm...endowment :p . I remember in college one night when I was sitting across the room from a buddy (Str8 :( ) and his then G/F and she kinda brushed her hand across his crotch...I literally watched his cock get hard inside his jeans. Within 30 seconds, they'd left me to go into the bedroom to fuck. I stayed long enough to listen by the bedroom door. }(

THAT was sexy clothes for guys..."hardly" anything left to the imagination). Of course, it followed (lead?) the '60's sexual revolution. When W starts wearing those clothes (ewwwww, sorry, make that Timberlake, Hartnett, Affleck, Damon, etc.), we'll know sex is back in vogue. :9

Don't "they" say all fashion cycles repeat themselves?? When, oh when? :7

Wow, what a great visual! I would pay to see that :)

That reminds me of a pair of white "hip huggers" I owned during that period that were so low that I was constantly worried about someone seeing the crack of my ass. :p

"That shit is fruity"? Who are you, Archie Bunker on the down low?

It's not comfort at all. It's what's offered to you in the malls & what's shown to you on MTV. You're not consciously looking for baggy pants because you seek comfort. You want to follow the current (and getting tired really fast) trends for the MTV hip-hop generation. In a few years, when the tighter sexier clothes (like D-Squared) get filtered down to the mainstream retailers & that's what they sell, that's what you and your friends will be wearing.

>and most importantly...having

>people look at my ass is not what drives me in choosing what i

A few months of squats & the stairmaster should fix that. :p

Oh man, you're bringing back some memories. I too loved the snug fitting cords. And I remember the first time I saw this tan, hunky, and really muscular guy wearing a loose pair of overalls with no shirt on. Mamma Mia! :p

I agree. I really like gym shorts that come down about mid thigh. Anh higher looks kinda sleazy ... which I guess some guys would like. There is nothing attractive about guys wearing their shorts below their knees. I love bubble butt attached to thick, muscular thighs. And I wanna see those legs! :p

Although I kinda like the sleeveless shirts in the top and bottom pics, that's about it. I don't really care for what these guys are wearing. But the guys themselves. Yeah, I'd fuck every one of them except the anorexic looking one. Actually, a couple of these guys are hot as hell!

Taylor, you're not one of those guys who wear their pants hanging below their ass and the crotches to their knees, are you? Please tell me you don't do that. Lie to me if you have to. Because I HATE that!

... but if you do, that's ok. (I still hate it though)

This reminds me of a comedian talking about so many black men getting shot. He said, "No wonder so many of you guys are getting shot. Wearing your pants like that, you can't run fast enough!!" (I guess you had to be there.) :7

You're kidding, right? That's comfort? Wearing pants that snag on every doorknob you pass? Kiddo, I've seen guys fall head-first out of a Chicago L train because they tripped on their baggies. More than once.

That's comfort?

and most importantly...having

>people look at my ass is not what drives me in choosing what i

Wait a few years, baby. You'll be BEGGING for guys to check out your butt! LOL

And it will come faster than you think.

I blame the "baggy" look on hip-hoppers/rappers that have been working that look for years now. What's ridiculous are the suburban and rural white boys who've adopted the same style. When I was in high school, I couldn't get my Calvin Klein jeans tight enough...tight from the waist to the ankles(pegged). Tight enough to rub the hair off your legs...lol.

Hey, I like a pretty ass as much if not more than all of you. On the right guy, tight jeans and daisy dukes are hot for sure. But thank God for the baggy look on most bodies. There's nothing more repulsive than a flabby ass or protruding gut in a tight outfit designed for someone 50 lbs. lighter and 50 years younger. There's enough pollution on this planet. Save the lycra for the gifted only please!:o

RE: Why isn't Abercrombie and Fitch sexy?

Since you guys are talking about clothes, I would like to state that I hate Abercrombie and Fitch for the sole reason that the non-thinking dudes choose this clothing because they can't think for themselves. It's just shirt A with pant B or whatever they see the guy down the hall wearing.

More creative gay guys do not like the cookie-cutter conformist look.

Thanks!

Yeah. They're all trying to look like Marky Mark. And even on him the look only worked because he used to let the jeans actually *drop*. :p
