First, let us all welcome back our founding (or is that floundering) father HOOBOY! Hey Hooboy, if you are out of FF miles and still have no place to stay in Feb. I will have a place for a week, and you can stay with all of us posters who are coming in from out of town.

HERE'S THE PLAN SO FAR.....

Since my plane lands at LaGuradia on the Evening of Thursday Feb. 20th, the kickoff event will be Friday Night at the Gaiety. LUCKY, COOPER and perhaps JIM (btmstudnyc) will show us what all the talk has been about. Plans are kinda freeform after that. There is some talk of taking a spin class at Crunch fitness in the following week. I have a ticket to the Wed. Matinee of The PRoducers and probably might try to squeeze in one more show before I leave on Thursday Feb. 27. I have made reservations at several places depending on whether I am the only one or whether there are others (I have a couple of suites lined up that can range from sleeping 5 to sleeping six with full kitchen). Since it appears GODIVA's BF may propel him into attending, the guest list may include (subject to change) LUCKY, COOPER, JACKHAMMER91406, BTMSTUDNYC, GODIVA (AND FRIEND) VAHAWK, and from a recent post SPIDA (whom I will e-mail as soon as this is posted).

Since all discussion of fees and events is for time ONLY, no sex is inferred or implied. However, the suites have plenty of beds and privacy. That said, would love to get an idea of how many could honestly say they might be coming and need bed space.

LET'S ROLL.

"Hairspray" is my pick for the Tony Sweep...

It's totally sold out, being that I live near the theater and they get all my late night food deliveries, they shared with me that the best time to get cancellation tix is on Tues Morn around 10am for some reason. Who knows?

Cute guys accross the street in Flower Drum Song, as well.

And if you want something really, really gay, but a lot of fun, it's the piano bar across from Joe Allen's Restaurant around 8th. Can't remember the name of the place, but its loads of fun with broadway-wanna-be's singing showtunes.

At least you can carry on a conversation. Campy - not my style, but the one time I was there I had a good time.

Hello Mr. Hammer: It sounds like you are quite excited about your winter venture to the Big Apple...As for the gathering at the Gaiety on Feb. 21th, you can count on me to bring the chips, pretzels, bread-stick, punch, cups, and napkins, (hey, just think of it as being on the house)...The line-up for that night looks great. I hope no one minds me writing my Gaiety "briefs" for the show! "Jack" since this was your idea, you can be the 1st dancer, Lucky #2, the rest of you guys can fight over your position. I'll go last, since by then all the patrons would have left. :+

Most likely the piano bar HooBoy is referring to is Don't Tell Mama - on north side of 46th Street between 8th & 9th, mid-block - and almost directly across from Joe Allen's.

Thanks for the tip Hooboy. Do they have a favorite food like pizza or something that might help? By the way, do you think it's possible that you might stop hopping around the globe, trashing computers, putting the moves on ComUSA salesmen (not that there's anything wrong with that), sleeping in Airports, bus terminals, and subways, long enough for me to meet you when I come to NYC? Sure would be a hoot to meet Hoo.

Hooboy,

Hope you are enjoying your trip. Just to let you know...A super large NY special pizza did the trick. I got a ticket to Hairspray for the Sunday Matinee. Couldn't get Orchestra, but got front center Mezz, so should be ok. Maybe there weren't enough toppings on the pizza? oh well. thanks for the info.

Hi Jack, Let us know how your plans are coming along for your NYC visit...A suggestion for a nice place to eat would be Langan's on 47th St. between 6th and 7th Ave. (NY Post hang-out). It's very close to where you are staying and serves excellent American/Continental food. Great NYC atmosphere. (Sat they have live jazz) Also comes very highly recommended by 2 other M4M members who joined me their for lunch today.

Hey Cooper,

Glad you enjoyed the lunch, what else did you guys enjoy? I did manage to get a ticket to Hairspray for the Sunday Matinee while I am there. I also am trying to work up the nerve for my first over nighter. You would think I would be over the nerves by now. There may be at least one other M4Mer from out of town joining the party for the weekend. It seems pretty sure, but you know how these things go. I hope he is able to make it. It sounded like when we talked the other night. Don't know how many locals will show up and whether even Hooboy himself can find the right airport and get back to NY. Checked out heavey weather gear at a men's store and geez, a jacket cost as much as a room. I'm afraid I won't be getting any style points for wardrobe while I am there. I guess you locals are used to the hicks coming in from out of town looking like they just stepped out of a 1950's Sears catalogue. Hope to spend most of the time not needing much in the way of clothing, depending on how long my money holds, how much abuse l'il jack can take and whether NY's finest butts are up to it. hah.

Thanks for the tip about Langan's. Look forward to it.

:D

Jack, When in NYC do your shopping on Canal Street. You'll find everything you need at great prices, including all designer names. Also, while there, you will be by Little Italy and Chinatown. Enjoy the atmosphere walking the streets and eating at any ethnic restaurant...Your first stop should be the "Tourist Information Center" on Broadway between 46th and 47th.(steps away from your hotel) Stop in and pick up a City subway map and a metro card... You should enjoy the 2 Broadway shows you selected, but don't forget about all the other cultural centers the City has to offer.

Cooper,

Taking in the local neighborhoods and checking out the thing tourists don't usually see sounds great to me. I have been to NYC twice and done most of the sightseeing. Didn't make Empire State Building, so might try for that. I know Ny has some great museums, so might try to make time for one or two of them. when I was in London last Feb. I spent a whole day in the British Museum and wasn't nearly enough time. I hope to get to see the NY that the locals know and love. the rest can wait.

:)

Hi Jackhammer,

Sounds like you are going to have a fantastic time and it seems like all those "damn Yankee boys" have your best interests at heart! Just like you, they seem to be great guys (I hope this doesn't mean I have to give up my Sons of the Confederacy membership!) :7

I used to live in NYC and it is truly a great city! Definitely go to the Empire State Building if you have time but as far as touristy buildings go, I think the Chrysler Building is the absolute best. My alltime favorite place in NYC was Central Park, but it's probably too cold and deserted this time of the year.

Wish I could be there for all the festivities but I will be in Texas that week enjoying the warm sunshine, but I TRULY HOPE you have a great time!! :-)

Did you say you got a ticket for me to see Hairspray, too?

I can see that show dozens of times....it's like a great CD, except it is live and it is outstanding and uplifting and I could go on and on, but ....

if you got me a ticket, I may come home. }(

Hooboy,

Gee, if I knew that's is what it would take to get a chance to meet the great and powerful Hoo, the one Hoo started it all, I would have gotten two tickets in a New York Minute (I believe that's how the expression goes, or is that what local escorts use to time sessions?) (it's a joke guys) I can get another for you and will gladly do so. Say the word,( but do it quickly so I can order it today.) Also let me know if I am to have it mailed to me, mailed to you (sorry, it's ticketmaster , they only do will call for international orders, oh that's right, you are global). Anyway, Hoo, seriously, let me know. I'll glady buy one for you. It would be a Hoot to meet the Hoo.

:p
