<<And for those of you who don't want to admit your addiction, we know who you are....don't we?>>

alright, i'll admit my addiction. i partially blame nyo for my addiction; having to read the monday gaiety reviews without fail. my main focus is the strip clubs forum to keep up with the gaiety schedule, montreal, toronto, etc. i'll read the lounge, deli threads several times daily, selectively go into the other sections periodically. i try to resist posting frequently; quite often someone's already posted a reply similar to my views, so don't like to simply post a "me too" comment. i often find the heated, back and forth discussions interesting, until they become so long that they get tedious and boring "he said she said" crap.

lucky, you have too much time on your hands! ;-) i just got done posting in the middle of this thread, then read some more postings before realizing all the postings were a year old. x(

I found this site by accident 4 years ago and since then I have read it every day! Start out by reading the new reviews of the day, Devons journal, and then the message center. Thanks to HooBoy and to all the reviewers I have meet several great escorts on here and will continue to do so as long as it is up! Did not use this site once in hiring and he was a total bust. Learned my lesson quickly! I do review escorts and post on the message center. The message center has been a great tool for me to learn about things I would have never known without all of you'll postings. Living only an hour from the "Big Easy" I have been able to meet several outstanding traveling escorts that post their travel plans here, without this site I would have not been able to do so. Thanks to HooBoy and all you guys for all you'll information that I have put to good use!

Count me in also. Twice a day and I read the board the same number of times too. Usually have to catch up with Devon`s "slutting around", then newest reviews before checking message center.

Work from home too so it makes a break in the routine. Besides it got me to Rio to carouse around with a great group of M4Mers and "friends" and to meet the LA guys now on a regular basis. Those guest escort appearances ain`t too shabby either.

Happy Holidays to All !!!

Okay, Okay I will admit I am addicted also. Isn't admitting your addiction the first step to recovery :o I find myself visiting Hooville at least once a day, if I miss a day I have withdrawals the next day. I usually will first read the Newest Reviews and then go into the Message Center. I like the Strip Club section especially the discussions of Montreal because I love visiting that great city. I find the Message Center both entertaining and educational, a great combination, however as others have mentioned, I get bored with the fighting that some people enjoy doing in the MC x(

It's been an exact year to date since I posted the preceding response! I was quite surprised when I read the responses of my cyber buddies and found mine at the end; then I noted the posted date-- 2002.

Yes, I have honestly to admit that I am addicted to the site and at least three or four of the forums here. The only time that I am NOT at Hooboy's is when I am away on a trip or on a holiday-- I rarely come here, But as soon as I arrive back home-- guess what I do second after placing my luggage on the floor? I do not know what my actions hold for 2004!

I check in every day.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Hooville is the only place I've found in the entire universe of the internet where I can find intelligent, interesting conversation among adult gay men about subjects that concern me. Not all subjects do concern me, and when they don't, I don't contribute. And I also don't post when I don't think I have anything useful to add to the conversation.

Thus, weeks may pass without my posting a single word; but that doesn't mean I'm away from the board.

Lucky is the bean-counter among us. Recently he alerted me to the fact that I was close to the 1,000-posts mark. I keep forgetting to check, and maybe I've already exceeded it. I'm into the next millennium, as it were.

I read the stuff here for almost a year before I had the balls to post something. What finally did it for me is that I realized this is a place to have fun and inform one another. If I want to solve the political foibles of this country, or save lives or cure diseases, there are much more focused places to go. As long as I realize all this is in good fun, I figure the jibes from the assholes who line up to shoot down any newcomers won't mean more than the keystrokes they use to pollute. There are some pretty bitter people who live here in this HooVille, but I try to remember they are just gay men (mostly, I assume) who are unhappy and victims of homophobia. As Christ supposedly said hanging on that cross thingie, forgive them father for they know not what they do.

Yes, I am. Its interesting that this thread has resurfaced.

I began reading the message center section in early November 2002 for NYO's Gaiety Weekend review and his picks for the best dancers. I mostly post in the Strip Club Section once it was split off from the Deli section.

I view the posts before going to work and after work before going to bed. If I have trouble sleeping I'll get up and view the posts.

I've met some nice people in NYC from this site- the fabulous Cooper, the sexy Lucky, VDN, Jayynj, DenverTraveler, Tomcal and others. Also communicated with many others including Jackhammer beginning with his posts of his first trip to the Gaiety-talking about someone with their hand stuck in the cookie jar (reaching for Gaiety dancers as many privates as possible). Very fun post to read.

About 3 years ago I accidentally discovered HooBoy’s site. I think I became addicted almost at once. I logged on once or twice a week to read the reviews. About a year later I discovered the Message Center and soon I was logging in every day. Mine is basically a silent addiction – I didn’t register or make my first post until October – but it is clear that I am hooked on Hooville.

Happy Holidays --

Three plus years later, I still can't catch up to deej, who just marked his 7000th post! But I am still addicted, and still, most of the time, enjoying it.

What has changed since the original post is how many friends I have met through this site, which makes it even more addicting!

When I made my original post in this thread, I had never met anyone connected to this site--had never even considered the possibility of doing so--and tonight I am off to an annual Hooville Bash, having already met a couple dozen posters in the last two years. I also never imagined that Lucky, of all people, would become one of my best friends. And, yes, I still check the MB every day, even though I don't post as often as I did several years ago.

>So how many Hooville addicts do we have here?

No, I am not addicted. Yes, I check at least once every day and have for a couple of years. But, I could give it up anytime I wanted. NO, I AM NOT ADDICTED! :-)

I have met in person 12 of the responders to this thread. Overall, I have probably met about 40 Hooville posters, so it has become more than a message board.

I resurrected this thread because I thought it was interesting to see who had posted on it, some still here, some apparently no longer addicted. The unexpected benefit of bringing it up again is that alanm said something nice about me, and Rick Munroe now thnks that I am a King of some sort...was it King of Erections? :)

NAAAHHH!, I don't think so! But if you changed the gender and went just a wee bit further west, then I could possibly buy into you being designated Queen of Hemorrhoids. :7 :7 :7 :7

You so fun!! :9

Count me in... I am definitely an addict. At least twice a day for my fix. I check the new reviews -- almost always skip the ones without a picture. Then to the message section.

I post occasionally, but not obsessively. I used to enjoy the politics section, but it is too rabid for me now... as a moderate Republican, I'm not in love with George Bush, but also don't think he, Cheney and Rove are Rosemary's Triplets, either. So I read that a lot less and almost never participate anymore.

This site is what keeps me connected to the escort scene, and the few times I have had the courage to hire since I found it, it has been of enormous practical help. I'm shy by nature, and so careful about sex that I almost never risk it, so HooBoy has helped me lose some fears and at least envision times of pleasure.
