I can only speak for myself, but I totally disagree. I am LIVING by myself for the first time in my life and LOVING it. I more than qualify as a 55+ gay man, but I still have certain local friends and certain family members close by, but I have met so many wonderful gay REAL friends in the last year that I am never lonely. I am very independent and can come and go without asking permission. I have begun to travel and I live life to the fullest every day.

It is true, some days I get LONESOME, but I am never LONELY. It doesn't matter about your chronological age or your sexual orientation, it matters about having a positive outlook on life and cherishing those close to you.

ENJOY YOURSELF

I think from reading alot of client posts here, and realizing the frequency with which they hire, and the things they claim to do with the escorts, it seems to ME that the act of hiring is satisfying lonliness more than it does horniness. Afterall, if you are honry, you can watch porn, fantasize and jerk off, but it lacks the interaction with another person. Dinners, overnites, trips, boyfriend experieneces are not signs of horny guys, they are signs of Lonely guys, or at least

ones seekling some sort of affection and companionship that they are lacking in their lives.

This answer will sound like I'm hedging my bet but I'm not.

Most of the times when I hire somebody, I don't know whether I'll be lonely or horny by the time the actual day arrives (keep in mind I plan a few months out and it's typically an overnight or multi-day event). I can't pin my pent-up sexual feelings on a random spin of chance with another person because it doesn't always work out and seriously..it's just way too much stress! It's stressful enough planning the encounters as it is.

The only thing I can TRY to do (and I don't succeed at this always ) is to TRY to have fun being with that person and to accept them for who they are...and TRY to have some fun myself (it's a bit of a stretch for me at times believe it or not but all I can do is try).

i've gotten a little better though at figuring out who i can hire to have "fun" (this means: inside or outside the bedroom) and who i can hire to "go out with"

Dang it! Outted right here in Hooville for what and who I am......lonely......and truth be told.....desperate too! What oh what shall I do to fix this ruined life?

LOL Thanks for the chuckle. For a quick fix, check out Rick's responses in the "We Apologize" thread. Lots of ideas there.

You can always cum to NYC and ill entertain you. Regardless of what you have heard here, I am really more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

I always wondered just how much fun a barrel of monkeys really is. Sounds loud, smelly, and annoying to me. ;)

Deej, I can only respect your Honesty, which makes us actually have something in common, as hard as that is to believe. Loud and annoying maybe, but I've never been accused of being "smelly"....

I totally agree with Bill's last comment! I'm 63 and this morning put down the deposit for my new, ONE BEDROOM, apartment.

I am also very independent, like to travel, attend the theater, go to concerts, walk in the park, check out new places as well as entertain guests (both straight and gay, friends and family). At times, I enjoy being ALONE which is not synonymous with being LONELY despite what some may think!

Gcursor - well said. In fact, after my most recent weekend with an escort, I'm not sure which I appreciated more - the fantastic bedroom activities or waking up with someone else in the house.

These are such brave, healthy, and positive postings and bravo, men, I agree wholeheartedly. And JJ, I'm not sure I'd want to hang out with a barrel of monkeys - somebody has to clean up and it ain't gonna be me, but I'd hang out with you in a second. That tanned god picture in your avatar - well what can one say?! Boston Bill, I have to take you up on your offer next summer about getting together - you sound great to me.

But I think the OP's article really dealt with people who were a few years older than you guys. More likely gay people who were contemplating a retirement community and were less mobile (economically or physically). It may well be different for those folks. And in spite of what you may have heard, homophobia is still with us. As a gay person in an assisted living situation, you might not get the respect and care that you should be entitled to. I know as I slouch into my declining years (not for quite a while, I hope), I'd seriously look at a gay whole life-care facility. I think a bunch of 85 year olds playing gay bingo would be a hoot - beats the hell out of sitting in front of the TV waiting for the plumber/mail man/repairman/anyone to show up and affirm that I'm still alive.
