This is the first Southern Decadence I have missed in years but I just talked to two people on the ground there and it is POURING and going to Keep pouring till tuesday. That's because the tropical storm in still in the Gulf. You're only getting the outer bands.

I'll start worrying once it becomes a Category 2 Hurricane. Anything less than that is mostly just an inconvenience. As it stands now, the storm has brought some cooling winds which have lowered the temperature down to the low 80s. This might end up being the best Decadence weather ever.

I've enjoyed visiting New Orleans in the past. The last time was back in 2002--I think it was right before I ever hired my 1st escort. It was October--I was there for a convention--there had either just been a small hurricane--or maybe only a tropical storm. I was wondering if I was going to be able to make it in--or even if I should go because of the weather. By the time I got there it was rainy--and the street cars weren't running--something about the earth beneath the tracks needed to be replaced. The very unfortunate thing about me and New Orleans is that I dislike seafood intensely--even crawdads-and other crustaceans. I also am not fond of okra. So just about everywhere I go--I am looking for chicken (non-blackened) or steak. And while a lot of the restaurants may be good with seafood--I've had some pretty average steaks.

Anyway, even though the weather was the crappiest I could possibly think of, the people made it all worthwhile. All the guys were really cool and fun and I was actually happy that I got to visit your home town. And of course the day I left it stopped raining and when I was about to land in Vegas, Southwest announced that it is raining in Las Vegas. Great... never rains here... I guess this rain can be "thanked" to me because this cloud seems to be following me all over There was a pretty big crowd out there even though the weather wasn't good, but I heard that this year's number were substantially lower than in previous years.

 

I just wanna thank to all of you guys who went out to see the parade and have fun! I only brought back great memories with me to Las Vegas!
