In tens of millions of reviews on Web sites like Amazon.com, Citysearch, TripAdvisor and Yelp, new books are better than Tolstoy, restaurants are undiscovered gems and hotels surpass the Ritz.

Or so the reviewers say. As online retailers increasingly depend on reviews as a sales tool, an industry of fibbers and promoters has sprung up to buy and sell raves for a pittance.

“For $5, I will submit two great reviews for your business,” offered one entrepreneur on the help-for-hire site Fiverr, one of a multitude of similar pitches. On another forum, Digital Point, a poster wrote, “I will pay for positive feedback on TripAdvisor.” A Craigslist post proposed this: “If you have an active Yelp account and would like to make very easy money please respond.”

Wonder how much one of our noted escorts has spent for favorable reviews...

Wouldn't it be easier to create fictitious handles and write them rather than pay someone else to do it?

Heck Sam, do both. Then you can get 76 reviews and...

I think Daddy knows the score and deals with it. As for clients, I'd say they are pretty savvy. All in all I give us all credit for being intuitive enough to know when "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"---Hamlet Act 1, scene 4, 87–91

Ive always said, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably AIN'T ....

I have made comments here abouts reviews I have read of escorts that were glowing, flawless, amazing, astounding, and maintained that I often was skeptical because I never heard anyone talk that way; it almost sounded like passages from romance novels. I was crucified for my comments as being shallow, negative, untrusting, judgemental, etc.....

Of course a review can be a good indicator (if its actually written by someone who experienced the service), but someone else having a good experience does not insure yours will be the same. Thats why they invented the saying "TRY IT, YOU MAY LIKE IT"... Only you can decide if a product or Service is right for You !

After reading and writing reviews for nearly ten year I have come to the conclusion that reviews tell me as much or more about the reviewer than they do about the escort.

few years ago I saw a documentary on escorting i think it was on cnn I think they interviewed one male escort and the rest were females and the topics of reviews came up. the ones interviewed said that allot of stuff mentioned in reviews is just fantasy.

Some of the "Over the Top Reviews" around here do tickle the "Fantasie's" and interest of some reader's.

Are alot made up/exaggerated only those who "Follow through" with the Working Guy Reviewed will know for sure!

I have found out Not to take these "Reviews" too seriously one way or the other!

I like the Reviews and use them. Do I believe all of them--heck no (but I do think the majority are reasonable honest if not totally truthful--I mean who remembers everything in such detail--I'm happy if the reviews are recreations that are true in spirit if not the actual 100% events).

Does that mean I've never had a less than an excellent time with a Reviewed escort--heck no. I'm certainly happy for my fellow clients who proudly state that with the help of the Reviews they've never had a bad experience, but I can't claim that. What I can claim is that the Reviews have made me aware of some really, really, stellar guys (Raul Manzo, Andrew Justice, AJ IRons,,Tyger Romann, Justin Taylor Dirk (ret), Richard from Baltimore (ret), Trey Casteel (ret)--well the list could go on and on)--and they have probably decreased the % of bad experiences that I would have otherwise had in 9 years of hiring.

On top of that reading the Reviews and the Forum have provided me with hours of "reading" pleasure when I have been bored and helped answer questions for me back when I was a newbie to the world of hiring. Although I am not sure how my bank account feels about the last 9 years, personally I am glad for the help and support I have gained through this Forum over the years. Thank you Hooboy for starting the site--and thank you Daddy for continuing it.

The best information/advice I ever got was via personal messages. In the book area, I know that authors pester their colleagues to write outstanding online reviews in exchange for doing the same.

Even Our Captain says some reviews are fiction. Wonder if he was ever paid $5 for his glowing reviews...

"I am suggesting that #43 was indeed a fabrication which I am sure was intended to be fun or even funny; constructed as pure porn in part to show how silly responses to requests for more details could be.

Has anyone tried to see if multiple reviews for the same escort are written by the same person by using plagiarism detection software? I'd like to try, but can't find a program that compares two sets of text, both of which could copied, pasted, and then run against each other to see what likelihood they were written by the same person.

I don't know about Captain, but for $100 a pop, I give spectacular review. I'm hardly a professional; however I'm enough of a writer to vary my tone, story line, vocabulary & spelling enough to put together 4 or 5 reviews w/o getting suspiciously repetitive.

$5 a review?? Get real. This is a class site, not Craig's List.

Interested parties can contact me via the site PM system.

I've posted numerous reviews over the years, using a different screen name. I try to make them as factual as possible. They are always reporting on an actual meeting with an escort. Nobody has ever offered me any money or discount on an escort fee to post a review. Usually the escort had no idea I was submitting a review, or even that I had learned about the escort from this website. I have one review submitted and pending now.

As for reviews being made-up, consider this: I and others gave warnings about a now retired escort in this forum many years ago and his next two reviews suddenly refuted everything that was said about him here… and in a very specific manner that seemed more than suspicious. I always assumed that they were more than likely written by the escort in question. Over the years we have discussed escorts and fake reviews and I recall one incident where the style and misspellings were so obvious as to indicate that they were written by one and the same individual. Heck! With all the bogus photos out there one would naturally assume that more than a few bogus reviews would be floating around as well! I have been fortunate to have mostly associated with quality escorts, gentlemen of the first order. However, there are a lot of questionable individuals out there working it and one needs to be able to read between the lines regarding reviews. If it seems overly fantastic or far-fetched... it most likely ain't true!

Thats my take on it, Exactly. No guarantees in anything. If you are attracted to it, TRY IT, maybe You'll like it ! You can only get stuck Once....

City newspapers usually have an "unwritten agreement" with restaurants that advertise in their pages - at least 4 positive reviews for each negative one.

Reminds me of the reviews in High Fidelity Magazine. They took a slightly different approach... all were positive... and the negative comments were somehow encrypted into the reviews. One had to literally read between and into the lines. For example, if a hi-fi speaker was described as having a "slightly brilliant quality in the treble" that meant that one would have to stuff their ears with cotton in order to survive the overly strident, shrill, and harsh sound that would be produced by that particular speaker.
